Here's a Liberty going a little pinkish red in the face. The first image is by Kryptonitecomics and the second is by Lablover.

I think it depends on what image you go on. In the first image, the toning looks more legit. (not just because of the slab insert) The second image is a bit too bright and gives it an AT look.
I would guess that if someone is going to cook them and get those colors, they'd do the whole coin. JMHO
<< <i>Very nice Toner...i grade it SPF-63
Nice play on words. Thank you, BW, and KC for the nice comments.

Cool stuff you got there!

The Lablover image is a wee bit juiced, don't you think?
<< <i>Nice NT Morgan.

Agreed.
When they have that much juice they do tend to take on the AT look even though-as this coin shows- it is not.
<< <i>the second image has been artificially juiced. The color has been over-saturated. >>
Artificially juiced? I don't think so...with all due respect. The coin was placed on the scanner in a slight angle and scanned. What you see is what the scanner captured, no adjustments were taken. But, I can see why one might think so having not had the coin in-hand.
Here's another coin I scanned for Sy. Perhaps he will comment if it's accurate.
Or, maybe this one.
And this one too.

Here's my take......the scanned image of the 1888 produced a coin that does look to be oversaturated with light....this can happen when scanning a coin since intense light is used and can reflect off the slab at the right angle but not all the time. The other 3 that Jim scanned above are amazing and dead accurate........even better then my digital images....in my opinion

Shane,
Thanks!
Your correct concerning the 1888. Sometimes there's a reflection back, just depends on the coin. This one acted like a Proof, which I can't scan worth a darn, although I've tried. Just to much reflection. Coins with more color (over most of the coin) tend to scan very well. I believe that is seen in the other three posted.
