Kudos to the US Mint

With all the complaining about the mint I decided to share what I thought was a superb return transaction.
Two weeks ago on Monday I sent back by USPS 1st class insured my SF Mint gold proof commem because the obverse had a minor scuff mark in the field. It was as simple as placing their label on the box and marking on their product return form that I wanted a replacement sent to me. I was notified by email promptly when they received the coin, I was notified of the credit issued to my credit card, and then I was notified today that the replacement was shipped. Well, they were a bit late on the shipping notice because I had already received it this morning. So it was eleven business days from the date I mailed it back to the date I received it. I find that to be excellent service.
Oh, and the replacement is
.
I have had dozens of problem free transactions with the Mint. This is the first coin I have ever had to return and it was very easy. I have never understood all the complaints I read here about the mint. Either some people are very hard to please, or I have been very lucky.

Not to mention I have made more money reselling coins purchased from the US Mint than I have made with any dealer.
Many moons (2001?) ago I purchased 10 silver proof sets, and 6 had to be returned due to fingerprints, spots, or other damage.
Another year, I ordered 6 proof sets because I needed 3 to give as gifts. I wanted to be sure and get 3 that were good enough to give away. As it turns out only 2 were damaged, so I kept the extra one for myself.
Since then, I haven't had too much trouble but it seems about 1 of 10 items is damaged in some way.

Once you have a problem, you will understand the basis for the complaints because you will identify, understand, and have a simple resolution but customer service will not and therefore the problem will not go away. You will just have to live with your frustration.
I too have had uninterrupted satisfaction with the US Mint until just recently. The one time it happened when when it really should not have. I am still angry with them.
