Edited to add. I for one thing the images on the site and elsewhere are images we can all look up to. They are pretty top notch if you ask me.

My response when this was posted elsewhere:

I looked through boxes of stuff at Anaconda's table in Baltimore, and many pieces I recognized from their website/saw when I got back home. The coins are as shown or better in hand. If someone needs a seller whose images warrant complaints, there are plenty--but Anaconda isn't one of them.

I saw that coin in Baltimore and can say the picture is an exact representation of the coin in hand. In fact, when I saw the picture, I was able to remember exactly which coin was being discussed.

I, too, drool when I see the coins you have listed on eBay... Maybe they're jealous and that why they complain.

Yes, so people will stop making comments about it. I've taken more in stride while not on this diet and you know what, maybe it is time to not pet the monsters in hopes they won't bite. I'm honest and I won't be pushed around by a bunch of people who want to bring me down. I have truth on my side and I will stand. >>

I don't think there's any anti-Poorguy agenda on these boards. You just need some crackers or something.

I wish everyone had pics as nice as yours. Your pics let the buyer see what they are paying for.
I wish I could take pics 1/2 as good as yoursimage

Now with that said---you still aren't on the starvation diet are you?
Stop it already---its not a good diet plan---go re-read all the good advice you got on that other thread.

  • I’ve only purchased one coin from Anaconda on EBay. It was a BIN for about 3K. I wasn’t able to view the coin in hand for a couple of weeks later because I was overseas for work. When I did get a chance to view the coin (in hand) it had a very noticeable scratch on the obverse that really bothered me. I also thought the toning was much lighter in the picture than in hand…

I’m sure Anaconda would’ve taken the coin back without any hassle, but I was too busy with traveling at the time to deal with it. I did end up selling the coin months later and didn’t have to take a loss. I would buy from Anaconda again, but I wish they were a bit more honest about things like the scratch. Again, this was my only experience with Anaconda and it could’ve been an oversight. I just always like it when dealers (e.g., markfeldcoins.com) points out imperfections, even if they’re minor.

I’m sure I’ll get bashed here for describing my “not so great” experience, but oh well…

Brandon - The only people you need to pay heed are the buyers of your coins. If they agree that your scans approximate the coin's look in person, then that is all that should matter. Honest descriptions and a solid return policy is the medicine that should cure most problems for any seller.

  • No bashing, please, post which coin it was openly. I have nothing to hide. Post a link to the coin listed in the archives of our website. I'm sure it is still listed there and if it bothered you, why didn't you give me a call. I would have immediately taken the coin back.

I didn't call you or send it back because of the reasons I described which were totally MY fault. Like I said I'm sure you would've taken the coin back. The coin was a pattern and I'd rather not rehash the past other than describing my experience and hoping you would take my input and make improvements (if necessary). Like I said, this is my only experience with you guys, but I'm sure it won't be the last...

  • Who the heck are you talking about? If you mean the thread entitled "enhanced images" or something and the author used your images then enhanced them himself to make his point, I agree. But that's just one example. You are universally praised from what I can see. The images that get torn apart here are the BC images, for good reason. It's the images of those coins that caused people to wonder if they were AT. And we know who did those images, and it wasn't you. Obviously.

Russ, Mark and who? Sure on the first two, but you don't wonder who she's talking about here?

<< <i><< Just remember, I don't come here and parade around my AT coins like others >> >>

Guess I'm the only one who, based on her squabbles with Adrian, thought she meant you guys.

    Hello Brandon -

Sorry to hear about the way you are feeling -

FWIW, I have never spoken to you or responded directly to anything you have ever posted, but I am doing so now to say that I, like I suspect a lot of people around here, appreciate your presence, have learned from the things you have to say, and on many occasions have enjoyed browsing through the gorgeous coins on your web site; it would be ashame if all you took away from your time were the comments of a negative few.

    Best ~

Why would you suggest I gave you negative ebay feedback? I've never left negative feedback for anyone and I don't appreciate you suggesting that I have.

Brandon, it would be better for your point/argument if you didn't misquote Techeff or puts words in his mouth.

His post about buying the coin/pattern was pretty clear (without mentioning which one it was exactly), yet, you either skipped through the post reading what you wanted or ignored parts of it on purpose.
Yes, you likely have a chip on your shoulder at the moment and are lashing out, but it really doesn't do anyone any good to do that.

Not sure if you keep records on who you sell what to, but if you did, you could have hit his profile, seen his name (first name), location, and amount and probably been able to identify the coin pretty quickly.
Also, he was very clear that he knew you would have taken the coin back with no problems, that he was traveling and decided NOT to return it, and that he sold it without a loss soon after. He was not disparaging the coin at all. Maybe the scratch was noticeable, maybe it wasn't. I also didn't get, from his comments, that he complained about the picture but that he was hoping that it would have been mentioned in the description. Could be an "either/or". Sometimes people don't want to return coins to dealers because they read on here that some dealers will take back a coin but not want to deal with that customer again, or won't give them early picks (not saying it is you, but some people may be scared because of it).

Maybe I've missed a few posts (it's possible, I've tried to have a life lately image ), but I didn't see anything that warranted your rant. Not Richardshipp's post, not Ajia's.
IMHO, it is fine for a dealer to respond to people but to keep themselves in the best light, they should do it without ranting and with professionalism.

Sure, it's nice to blow off steam and yell back at people, but in most businesses, that's not how it's done.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Could someone point me in the direction of the post that started this thread? Maybe I missed something, I read no Brandon "bashing" before someone flew off of the handle.

My experience says otherwise. A better lesson might be that as much as it's important for the collector to choose his dealer wisely, it's even more important for the dealer to choose his collectors wisely. In Brandon's case, I would encourage him to focus his attention on those that appreciate his services and are therefore more likely to support his business. This thread accomplishes just the opposite.
