Just goes to show that this is a great year to be free agent, limited talent, open wallets = fat paydays for good, but not great players. JD Drew is going to get paid handsomely for whats going to amount to 400 at bats per year, lol.
And again, goes to show how much money these teams actually have. Contracts like these hoping the players they sign will give them that ever so slight edge to win it all!
<< <i>And how much did they pay Beltre for his services? Ridiculous post? HA! So, you prove my statement to be accurate...thanks!! Choke on those apples! >>
Yes, your post was ridiculous and lacking anyting resembling fact.
You talked specifically about Griffey, Unit, and Arod. Please stop deviating from your post when you get OWNED.
you posted SPECIFICALLY in regards to three players. I told you EXACTLY why those players were not re-signed. YOU, as usual, deviate and said, 'well, what about him?'

The teams that are successful on a long term basis do so by developing and rewarding home grown talent.
I agree. The Yankees and the Mets are two excellent examples of that. >>
Sure they aren't.
Come again? The core of the four-time Yankee World Series Championship teams were all players from the Yankees farm system: Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, Andy Petitte, etc.
And just this past season the Mets locked up David Wright and Jose Reyes to multi-year deals even before they were arbitration eligible.
OWNED again, Axhole!

My apologies to the rest of the board members here. I am trying not to go back and forth with the ridiculous antagonizing of another board member. This happens all too often and ruins threads.

As long as Axhole is posting his asinine nonsense on these boards, that will never change. He has no life but to bicker on these boards morning, noon & night. It sure was nice when he wasn't around that week.

<< <i>Listen, Im not going round and round with you. You have no idea how to converse, discuss, and debate. You are much too immature. >>
Discussing different points of view, explaining your reasoning, and showing how you come up with a conclusion doesn't work. It's name calling, making threats of violence (and in some cases, death), and circumventing the bad word filter.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

you stated THREE Mariners who were not re-signed, attempting to indicate that M's weren't interested in winning.
I then refuted each player with the FACTS as to why they were not re-signed (all of which had NOTHING to do with not wanting to win).
You then backpedalled, throwing out the Beltre deal.
Who's at fault here? I'd say YOU.
