I'd post the eBay link I purchased it from just this morning, but I'm a bit embarrassed by how much I paid! image

There's no way that's from circulation. They should have bagged it for artificial wear. image

That may be worth 49.5 cents with the amount of metal worn off it!

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
  • coin was probably struck with insuffient pressure initially or was artificially worn

They needed to put some purdy "NT" toning on it. That way it wooda sold for $10,000.00.

    Surely it's a pop 1 - right?

The same seller is offering the same coin- date/mintmark in the same PCGS holder graded 56 points higher than mine and it's 50% cheaper. LINK

    Go figure...

I guess coin collecting is kind of silly at times.

For being such a good sport on that lowgrader, the seller ought to send you the "inferior" MS66 for free!
