Advice Needed... Kennedy Jackpot! Went to the credit union today and...

...I asked for any rolls of half dollars.
The teller said she had 5. I said I'll take them all.
As she was handing them over, she said, "Oh, the one on top is a 1967, it may be worth something."
I said "Cool!" She actually knew her coins.
As I looked over each roll, I notice they were all from Chase Manhattan Bank (which I don't even think exists anymore) and...
they were all original bank rolls of 1967 Kennedy Halves!!!
Five 40% silver rolls at face value. Anyone know what they are worth in Original Bank Rolls?
Thanks for any info.
I'll post pictures when I can.

They've been left alone for 40 years. I'd be a shame to open them now.

You might think about opening one of them up to check the coins over....it will give you a sense of the strike characteristics and condition of a good percentage of them. If your looking at a roll of gems or gem+ coins, you might do much much better for yourself opening them all.....likewise- if the one roll looks to be really baggy low grade uncs, then selling the rest still unopened might be the way to go.
I thought of that, but I know little about Kennedy's to do anything right now. I'd send the best ones in for grading by a TPG if they are worth anything in upper MS. As a roll, if they are worth more unopened, then I may leave them be.
Any other advice?
Thanks.

I am not super on top of these but I believe these go for a couple thousand each in 67 and 66's ain't give-aways either.
Just don't let yourself get ripped off buddy.
edit to add: This is not to say they are not all Mint STATE, but... they may have been cherrypicked for the gems already.

Nice find.

And those are really hard to find so I would say that price might be very close. A MS67 if you get any is moon money and I can think of a couple of use that would pay it.
I too got four or five rolls of all 40% halves a few years back from my credit union. Out of the rolls, there were only two that weren't 40%: one was a clad and one was a 90% silver 1964. I didn't get any Frankies or Walkers like I've heard of people doing, though. And my coins weren't original bank rolls like yours.
Nice score!
I'm not a big Morganite, but I gotta say the ones in your sigline are really handsome.
The picture is a little too wide, though.
How'd you get such a nicely matched set? Were they all in the same Wayte Raymond or something? Really cool. And with nice cartwheel luster, too.
Oh, yeah:
And thank you lordmarcovan regarding the Morgans.
The Morgans have been assembled over the last 5 years of searching for matched rim toned examples, all from older ANACS grades 62-65. I've got more, but, as you mentioned, the image is getting too wide, but on my 19 inch monitor, they look just fine!!
And yes, I do suck.

<< <i>(Now fix that sigline so it doesn't make the screen all wide where folks have to scroll back n' forth, O Grand Sucky One.)
What you need, Lordminivan, is a computer with decent resolution. Time to upgrade.

I could really use some help from the half dollar guys (Russ et al.) on what an original bank roll of these 67's are worth.
Thanks very much.

The only true original rolls I could find on eBay's archives are here but I don't think that auction was really indicative of the real value because there were three rolls auctioned together rather than individual auctions for each roll, and because the wrapper looks pretty fresh in that auction and to be honest I have to question the originality of it as well.
That rolls looks new compared to my rolls, but its hard to tell.
I may end up being better off opening the rolls and cherrypicking the nicest ones for submission to NGC.
