I can see the loops of the bow on the reverse, which means it's a draped bust. image

    Nifty!

Based on the scans alone, and
not seeing the edge of this
Type 1 "slug", I'd have to
say this is not a U.S. Mint
    Type 1 Blank Planchet copper
    Cent.

With the weight, and a view of the
edge (to see if there's any
"cut and tear" marks), I might
    change my mind.

I'm pretty sure I see traces of the design on the reverse, so I think it's just a really worn draped bust large cent.

It can't be blank--you can see very faint traces of the worn design...

What's the thickness of the planchet? Lettered edge? Likely not a draped bust. Much more likely a Liberty Cap. The 1793, 1794 head of '93, and 1796 pieces tended to wear out flat like that.

Yes, your 1964-D Jeff. is struck on a cent planchet.

Am I the only one who does NOT see any design
    any side of that "blank"?

I see nicks, stains, etc. I don't see any design.

The more I look at it, the more I'm beginning to see something, might be just my imagination playing tricks though.
