    Boo,

in all seriousness (my serious face) .... it is not the starting matchup that worries me tomorrow. It is that nasty Detroit bullpen. I have to admit that I am still at a low after tonights game ...... so, in the AM I am sure I will be ready to go baby image

And Grote thinks you must be sweating & pounding away on that keyboard in another futile attempt to prove how misguided you are.

  • Why can't Wong pitch on three days rest? He's a sinker ball pitcher so you don't want him too strong anyway. The season is on the line here. I say go with the 19 game winner who won in game 1.

Well, the Yanks are about -130 right now, so even with all the Bonderman/Wright talk they're still favored to win the game. >>

It opened a pk. All the NY $ is chasing like no tomorrow... well I guess they have a point, there may not be a tomorrow for them image

WOW. I wasn't around a computer yesterday late afternoon, so I had no idea what the opener was. PK? Crazy.

Just goes to show you how stupid the average bettor is. If the game opens PK I can see making the bet that puts the Yanks at -105, and MAYBE the bet that puts them at -110, but only a fool would bet a team after the price is twenty cents higher then the opener.

Just another thread in which axtell proves to the forum just how stupid he is.

Why would I want to prove how misguided I am?

Stay monosyllabic, bro. The world will be easier for you to navigate.

Why? Because I choose not to get drunk on yankee koolaid like you and the other forum rejects?

Because I see jaret wright as the epitome of all that's WRONG with the ny yankees, and he, ironically, will be on the hill with the yankees season on the line?

The yankees falling out in the first round will be the biggest disappointment you goons will have ever faced - what with every 'expert' picking the yankees to go back to the world series, and your feeling of entitlement to another world series CRUSHED.

Oh wait, then WP will simply switch teams and say he's a life long mets fan, right clown?

First of all...this would NOT be the biggest disappointment Yankees fans EVER faced. Another stupid statement from the resident DOPE.

Keep on defending ARod...every analyst and every NY fan knows what he's all about. When are you going to crawl out of his arse so he can play ball? Be sure to move everything out...your computer, your fridge, your mini cooper, and your mommy. If he can crap all of that out, maybe he can put the bat on the ball and play some D.

One thing on ARod's side today is that he has beat up on Bonderman. I think either team has a shot at today's game which does make me nervous as a Yankees fan.

Another thing that I feel they Yankees have going in their favor with Wright is that he has post season experience. He has experience pitching under this kind of pressure and he isnt in Yankee Stadium.

    Go Yankees!

How silly of me! You guys have been denied the world series 5 years running...what's another year floundering away?

You mean like how bernie 'beat up' on kenny rogers in the past so that's why he was in yesterday's game?

Do you even KNOW your team? Hell, a cursory glance at wright's numbers shows you have no idea what you're talking about: 3-5 record with a SEVEN+ ERA! Ha! Learn your team!

No, it wouldn't. I think we all remember when that was.

But, to read some of the articles this morning around here, you would think it was. The Tigers were the top team in MLB for most of the year, they have very good pitching and a great bullpen, and a manager who really got them into shape earlier in the year. Not to mention a lot of balance through the lineup - it's not much of an upset, is it? A lot of the NY press refuses to give credit to any other MLB team until they absolutely have to.

I meant prior to the series...yankee fans had already written the yankees into the ALCS, saying the tigers had no chance.

Of course losing 4 in a row after being up 3-0 (the biggest flop in sports postseason history) has to be the biggest single disappointment to yankee fans.

I'm sure this would rank right up there with being one out away from eliminating Boston in a 4-game sweep two years ago, only to lose THAT game and the next three.

I hate the Yankees, too, but statements like this bug me as they make Yankee haters all look irrational and foolish.

Hang around long enough and you see the gang mentality these ny 'fans' take up...the rove in packs, attacking individual posters who aren't part of their crew - it's comical to watch.

Almost as big as the 01 M's....................which is a tad bigger then the 04 Yanks IMO.

with that said the yanks are almost always in the playoffs/post season so of course there fans will have had some dissapointments. Unlike the Red Sox who basically have dissapointed there fans 1x every generation or so. Or teams like the Mariners that have never won anything. heck some of there fans claim that they would settle for 2nd place (axtell) that is if you believe what he said last week regarding "If only the M's won 8 and lost 7 vs the A's this year". When it was mentioned that they would still be behind the Angels he claimed that did not matter as long as they were ahead of the A's!

As for for the tigers, games are won on the field not on paper like guys like axtell would like for you to believe. the tigers had/have the same chance to win the series as the yanks did/do.

Good luck to the tigers and yanks today.

Not at all dipchit. The mariners came out of nowhere and had chemistry to put up those wins...The 01 mariners is a bigger disappointment than the yankees losing FOUR STRAIGHT games after being up 3-0? ARE YOU NUTS? That's the most RIDICULOUS thing I've ever heard!

Why are you trying to derail the thread with off topic conversations? The title here is YANKEES TIGERS GAME 3, not Mariners...get a clue, moron!

Who ever said games aren't won on the field, dipchit? Maybe you need to get your head beat in a few times then you'll make sense, hmm moron?
  • You have to take your hat off to Detroit. They really played a great game - not withstanding the poor call at third base by the umpire. New York was not in the game at anytime.

What's wrong with Jared Wright? I don't think he's that bad. He's sure as hell not a big step down from Jeremy 'The Space Case' Bonderman.

Still think Wright is not a big step down from Bonderman, Bootsieboy?? image

Yep. It's one game-- I'd rather look at a guy's career numbers rather then his performance in a single outing if I'm evaluating his talent. Wright as been a servicable, but not spectacular, pitcher for the bulk of his career. Bonderman has been slightly better than that, but only slightly. Will he live up to his huge potential? Maybe. I certainly hope he does, anyway. But that doesn't have anything to do with what we're talking about here.
