excuse me, a 1/2 penny ? KM# 726, copper. No other information I have from the standard catalog.

    I dabble in Darkside. image

A half penny makes sense, it's the same size as some George Half Pennies I have. Thanks!

Ive picked up a few jersey shillings and a couple doubles (8), all COOL, but I dont have time to image, I have to find a good way to store these guys..
I just hate 2x2s and they're not quite air-tite worthy.

    Cool!

I like 2x2s. But that's because airtites are expensive. image

    Wilkommen!

A suggestion: Use flips instead of 2x2s... staples near coins are just bad news. image

The 1853 halfpenny is one of the more common dates, but a gorgeous classic design. I have a "thing" for 19th century British copper...

I don't have any flips, but I have never had issue with a staple. Only a matter of time, I guess.

I LOVE the Victoria design. That's my oldest British coin. image

Good taste. My favorite as well. image

If you look around you should be able to find slabbed mint state examples for $100 or less.

My favorites, showing different levels of toning:

The same design in the larger penny design:

Similarly, in the tiny quarter-farthing. This coin is just a little larger in size than a pencil eraser.

Slightly larger half farthing, in an amazing state of preservation, NGC MS66BN. One of the nicest pieces in my collection:

And lastly, don't forget the "elder Victoria" design... although these actually seem to be a little tougher to find in UNC. I loved the purple toning of this one, as well as the "splash" of orange on the reverse. I affectionately dubbed this as the "Rapunzel Specimen." image

    Wow!

    Nice coins both of you!

Amanda, stick around in the Darkside for more time and come out of the shadows!

I have a few Victorian coins, mainly 1900's ones, one or two gothics and are one of my favorites are the young head and gothics!

Ooh! I forgot about the gothic florin and crown designs... Lovely design! unfortunately I only have a couple of florins in AU, no mint state pieces of either the florin or the crown. image

I like your Canadian 50 cent, Amanda. It looks to me like it would be MS (as opposed to PL) and that it might even cameo. MS cameo pieces in Canadian coinage are very cool. And they are much tougher to find than the PL coins.

Thanks for showing us some of your Darkside. PS--stick around, you'll like it here.

    Thanks, I will. image

And yes, Clankeye, that is an MS coin. image I took it from a 1964 set, but I'm not sure if it was a secondary market holder or not. The half had the most cameo on it, and the quarter had some frost, too.

It's a beautiful example, Amanda. You did real well with that. image And like I say, a cameo MS 50c is very cool.

Very neat, cool coins. Reminds me of some of my first darkside coins. In fact, I had one very similar to your first one.
