20th Anniversary 2 Coin Set Being Shipped
In case you are curious, the U.S. Mint has started shipping the 2 coin sets. I don't know if anyone has got thiers yet. I just noticed that mine is in the mail. I know there has been a lot talk about the 3 coin gold sets being shipped but nothing about the shipment of the 2 coin set.

I know there were tons of posts about cancelling orders...but I didn't feel like reading thru it all. Can someone SUMMARIZE for me what the final concensus is on whether to cancel my order or not? Will the reverse proof be for sale by itself? I see the uncirculated "W" version is for sale right now
Someone please enlighten me
3 pc gold set: an instant winner
2 pc gold/silver set: not a winner for coin rarity since the release of the uncirc singles by the mint - maybe worth something as a set a long time from now?
3 pc silver set: a winner, but it will take a while for it to show
I think that captures the spirit of the conversations...

You are spot on! 3 piece gold is an instant winner, 3 piece silver to follow.
Mine too! I'm on the 'cut line' as to whether I'll get any of the 3 coin sets.

Refunds are being offered to buyers of the American Eagle 20th Anniversary Gold and Silver Set who feel they were misled into purchasing the $850 set when it went on sale Aug. 30 and want to return them.
The set has a maximum mintage of 20,000. Some buyers assumed that was it as far as availability of 2006-W uncirculated one-ounce American Eagle gold and silver coins. That turned out to be an incorrect assumption. On Sept. 28, individual coins became available for sale.
The Mint issued a statement to correct the problem and in an interview with Numismatic News, Mint Director Edmund C. Moy apologized.
“While the United States Mint is pleased to offer both the special Anniversary Sets and the first new Uncirculated American Eagles to our customers in the year celebrating the 20th anniversary of the American Eagle program, we do acknowledge that our communication regarding the intent, timing and pricing of these two programs could have been clearer. We regret any confusion that occurred, and have offered a full refund to any customer who is not satisfied and wishes to return their sets,” the statement said.

I don't think the 3 piece is the winner... I think the reverse proof gold piece with mintage of 10,000 is. The other two can be had easily except in FIRST STRIKE designation in plastic...... but that REVERSE PROOF is the 95W of yesteryear.
