I am not buying any because there are just so many modern commems to keep track of and I want to be selective
But I'm sitting it out because I don't think it's gonna' be one that I like to take out and look at a lot.
<< <i>In an article about the SF Old Mint Commems, in the 9/18 issue, CW reports, "Sales of the 2006-S San Francisco Old Mint silver dollars reached 31.7 % of the maximum 500,000 coins authorized, or 158,490 coins. Sales are represented by 39,587 single Uncirculated dollars, 84,229 single Proof dolars and 34,674 additional Proof dollars in the 2006 American Legacy Collection set.
Half eagle sales have reached 41.3% of the maximum 100,000-coin authorization, 42,325 coins, representing 29,255 of the single Proof gold coins and 12,070 of the single Uncircualted coins." >>

<< <i>I almost bought it because I think it'll hold value well and have a low actual mintage, kinding keeping itself under the radar right now.

I dont think people will forget about these guys. they're not actually out for a couple-a months.
That Morgan type Eagle reverse does look nice.
imho.
Prices seem fair to me.
I ordered one of each of the silver dollars and passed on the gold.
Eventually I want to put the silver dollars into a multiholder with one or two original 1906-S coins. Probably a Barber dime and half.
collections: Maryland related coins & exonumia, 7070 Type set, and Video Arcade Tokens.
The Low Budget Y2K Registry Set
I'll probably flip them over in their cases to have the reverses showing

I guess the so-called artists at the mint aren't talented enough to come up with a reverse design of their own.
I think the gold is way overpriced so I cancelled my order.
<< <i>Will they offer FIRST STRIKE on San Francisco Old Mint Commemorative Coins
I believe if you send in your SF Old Mint coins within 30 days after their first shipped date, PCGS will give them FS designation
thanks,
Eric

The only one that remained 12/15 was the proof $5 version.
Anyone else notice this?

I was just wondering with the REVERSE if there will be VAM designations, too
thanks for that post, Jason.
