<< <i> . . . how hard would it be to do it through canvas . . . >>
Actually not "hard" at all - just quite time consuming. Here's the receipe:
Buy about 200+ bags of UNC Morgans, seal them tightly in US Mint or Federal Reserve Canvas bags. Toss the bags in a vault with a cement floor (to get the textile toning you need to pile the bags on top of each other); make sure that the temperature and humidity fluxuate with the weather. Lock the vault for 50+ years (might take a bit longer - you might have to do a spot check every 30 years or so ) and presto - you have some toned Morgans - some may be spectacular, some may be fugly - it's random - but that's how to "make" toned Morgans that might look like the BC or CB toned Morgans. You may have to make your grandchildren "partners" in this project - it really does take a long time
Collecting eye-appealing Proof and MS Indian Head Cents, 1858 Flying Eagle and IHC patterns and beautiful toned coins.

<<So are you saying that I was incorrect in pointing out that Bob Campbell was wrong about blue toned Indians cents being legitimate? Are you not the person who earlier this year brought it to the message boards attention that these are not legitimate? I am confused. Are you trying to provoke an argument? If you feel I was incorrect in anything that I wrote please provide a response stating why. If you wish I will ask Bob if his opinion has changed on them.>>
In reply to your questions, in the event that they were sincere:
I don't claim to know if Bob Campbell was wrong or not. And, I prefer to avoid overly broad generalizations regarding matters such as "blue toned Indians cents being legitimate" or not. My guess is that some are and others aren't.
I feel that you might very well have been incorrect about the color of the Proof Lincoln cent about which you said "Super fake and easy to make".
I also feel you were incorrect in saying in a thread about the Battle Creek dollars "And that is a FACT from an unbiased source who spent more money on them than anyone else and sold a bunch of them to his best clients." Many would disagree that such a buyer/seller is "an unbiased source". You sounded as if you were in support of Mike's comment "...the FACT that the Battle Creek dollars are NOT artificially toned, plain and simple..."
Oddly, however, in another thread about the Battle Creek dollars you, in what sounds like a big contradiction, said "The toning is fake on them. No one questions their inauthenticity unless they're just trying to sell them." Which is it?
There is some textile toning, and an arc from another coin resting on it at 9:00. The colors are in the right order and vary with the depth of field. I vote NT. (I've been watching my Campbell video again.)
I would say that it is clearly and unquestionably NT however anyone around here who says something is NT usually gets it in the butt one way or another....

Would storing them in my sauna [cranked up all the way] and a little hydrogen sulfide gas speed the process along any?

Yep - it would reduce the time to about 2 weeks - but you'd have a lot of black coins - and black won't get you any premium!
Edited to add: BTW - the H2S can kill you

<< <i>So folks, your thoughts, NT or AT?
Besides AT or NT I still dislike the way the photo looks, just like most other BC Morgan pictures.
