So now that we know Cladiator is the winner, we must all pressure him accordingly to do the right thing and not be a scumbag. Everyone should send him a PM and encourage him to sell the prize immediately and donate 100% of the proceeds to a valid non-YN related charity.

    Jay,

It is really something that you have the time to post an average of over 38 times PER DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I guess 22,222.

And I think you need a prize too. When you get to 40 posts a day average, I will give 10 free therapy sessions, with a psych of your choice.

    Keep on.

Cool I won. Put an MS65 St. Gaudens in my hand and then we can talk about the charity. Something tells me we're not going to have to worry about what charity to donate to.

I think you should hold the Charity auction immediately. Saintguru can just drop ship the prize to the winner and the orphans will have something to eat tonight because of your good deed.

I'm guessing that the cents are glued to a box, so there are only 2727 of them.

    << <i>Hey saintguru,

What do you think about adding a stipulation that the winner must auction off the coin and donate it to a valid Charity, don't you think it would make this giveaway much more pious? >>

I think that charity must exist in the heart, Doug. I must say that you certainly are a pristine example of a benefactor. Others find truth in their hearts, some take time.

And most are just capitalist scumbags who would rather have some new shiney trinkey rather than hundreds of starving children being fed for a month or more.

If I won the coin then it would be up to me how to generate funds from it and what charity to donate the funds to. An auction may not be the route I choose. Besides, it doesn't matter because Saint already said I didn't win.

<<...that deafening sucking sound!>> Really? Was I THAT obvious? imageimage

I thought your "B.I.G. 30,000" was pretty clever! image

Well, at the risk of sucking more, I have to add that it IS ingenious...how many posts in how many minutes? While everyone is posting on dozens of other threads? And we still haven't solved the riddle!

So it's not the pile of coins in your Saint Gaudens' Registry...

And it's not the coins on the "outside" of the box...Maybe it is?

    and it's not 1 or 0...

and it's not the two types of Lincolns...

How about the coins on the 3 faces of the cube we see? 933.

Or that cube ON TOP of your registry link makes A PILE of 988.

    Good numbers there, Santo Guru...

30,000 posts...55 saints in the set so far...933...988...arrggh!

Oh! and Russ had a good guess...so 100 is in the neighborhood?
  • I'll call it a 100 pound block.
Given an equal amount of copper and zinc cents, that would be...

    16,170

    All Copper would be... 14,585
    All Zinc would be... 18,144

    (Assumes:
    Copper cent = 3.11 grams
    Zinc cent = 2.5 grams
    453.59237 grams in a pound)

    Just having fun. image

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see by what means the ENIGMA is revealed.

There! Anyone ever called you enigmatic, Guru Brahin? kind of like numismatic? Is somebody already the enigmatic numismatist?

    I know, ...OT

So, back on thread...The cube positioned over the registry link makes a pile, then 933 OVER 55 is 16! Sixteen coins. There, I can go to sleep now. It's after 2:30 am over here.
