IMO The best year for football card design was 1955. The Topps 55 All-Americans may be the best set ever and I also love the design of the 55 Bowman's as well. What a great year to collect!
Oddly enough though I am only a Hockey Card collecter at this point, I really like that odd design from the year Lew Alcindor was a rookie for Basketball cards...I think it was the 69/70 set...tallboys...
I like that design so much, I think I am going to purchase a high grade rook of Kareem some day...
In Hockey, I really like the 71/72 opc and 68/69 opc....also both 61 sets ..parkhurst and topps...
