Guess The Grade: Bust Half Dime - Grade Revealed

The pics are big but they are worth it so give it some time. What do you think she grades? Any other comments on the coin and it's condition are welcome of course. MrHalfDime, Barndog and JrGman2004 have all seen this coin I believe so they probably shouldn't put in a grade guess but are more than welcome to see if they can attribute it.

This is a WAG without being able to spin her for luster, but I will throw a 53 at her (could go 55 with more luster than I think I am seeing)
Nice coin

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
53 is my WAG.
The toning streak on the reverse bothers me a little. Otherwise, a very pretty coin.
Yep...no doubt... I REALLY want to have her babies.

Barndog nailed the attribution as the LM3.3. I was (and still am) a bit confused at the large range of grades given. I'd like to say that anyone who graded this coin in XF, please sell me as many XF half dimes that you can find
This is one instance where I believe the grade on the PCGS label on a Bust half dime is actually accurate. My personal grade and the PCGS grade of this coin is AU58.
<< <i>Thanks for playin' everyone

I don't specifically remember having viewed this coin in hand, but I probally did... my initial thought from the pics had been AU55, but I can see 58

<< <i>ps. I must give credit where it's due. Photos are courtesy of Phil and the PCGS TruView service. Nice pics Phil >>
What is this PCGS you speak of?

<< <i>au58??? you got ripped

You were ripped off.
I like it. I would have guessed 55.
Regardless of the grade, it is cool!
No, but what is the price difference.
<< <i>No, but what is the proce difference. >>

What's a proce? >>
Sorry, what is the price difference?
<< <i>anyone familiar with the price difference for a 55 vs. a 58? >>
i think you better look at the price difference between xf-45 & au-58! based on THAT digi-pic, that coin is nowhere even remotely close to unc, which is what "58" means
K S
Like I said before please sell me all of your XF Bust half dimes
K S
<< <i>if i had some to sell, i wouldn't mind. but you'd be paying me based on my COST, not based on a "grade"
K S >>
Oh, bummer. I thought for sure you'd have several Bust half dimes.
As for price difference, there is virtually none for a 55 vs. a 58 capped bust half dime. I'd expect a common die marriage in a PCGS holder with no notable toning would be a $275-$350 coin in AU-58. Take $10-$25 off that price for a 55. These price levels assume rational sellers and buyers.

i have alot more then "several"!!!
of course, the bottom line as always is that if you like it, you really really like it, then the price does not matter

<< <i>i cant find the revealed grade >>
It's AU58.
<< <i>the luster is there, its just under 150 years of natural tarnish >>
Bingo!
Honest I was.
<< <i>i cant find the revealed grade but it has to be higher than an XF looks damn near unc to me. how could anyone think a high grade bust coin could have any "brilliant" luster ?? its not gonna shine like an MS 1921 morgan dollar the luster is there, its just under 150 years of natural tarnish, a beautiful coin no matter what the grade >>
