1854 Type 2 Gold Dollar, PCGS AU-58, "Original and Crusty" SOLD! No longer available.

For those who like their gold coins “crusty and original,” this piece is for you. This 1854 Type 2 gold dollar has original coppery toning on both sides with considerable luster, especially in the protected areas. The piece is well struck for the type with nearly all of the hair detail showing about Ms. Liberty’s forehead and a strong date. There are some clash marks showing on the reverse where the obverse die came in contact with the reverse die.
