Does PCGS attribute Canadian Cameo's?

Does PCGS attribute Canadian Cameo's?

I sent in a few PL $'s with hopes of them coming back as PL Cameo's. Nope! Not one!

Being the first time I've sent in to PCGS, do they recognize cameo's or is my eye waaay off!

Other than that, I think their grades were spot on, even had a very nice surprise with an 1885 10 cent I knew was at least a VF-30 ($400.00 Trends). Came back at EF-40 ($800.00 Trends). Yahooooo! Not bad for a $137.00 purchase raw!

Thanks PCGS! I'm packaging up another order for ya!

PCGS will give the cameo or DC on proof coins. I've asked HRH a couple of times in the Q&A forum with no repliy.

Nice score on the 1885 10c!

  • Thanks Gene. Yeah, I was do'in the "Happy Dance"! Literally! Hah!

Guess I'll have to send them to ICCS for a cross grade/designation. They are cameo, possibly HC! Quite a difference in $$$ with the designation.

BTW, I'm a Newb as you can see by my 12 posts, what or who is "HRH"?

When I first saw references to “HRH” on the forum, I was aware (from the discussions) it referred to David Hall, but not knowing the actual meaning of “HRH” I decided it must mean “His Royal Highness.” image - Preussen

They attribute cameos on proofs, but how about on PL's? Since I see no cameos in the PL dollar sets, I imagine they aren't attributed.

PCGS does not attribute CAM/DCAM on PL coins.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Sending them off to ICCS for a cross grade/designation will not affect the characteristics of the coin itself. And, it is these characteristics that will influence the value of the coin. What's on the holder (CAM, HC) will only be meaningful if you sell your coins sight unseen.
