So what's the point? A clever con artist scammed a lot of people here. You called him out - good for you. I've seen many of the posters on this thread successfully call out a number of ebay scammers and not be concerned about whether or not they received accolades for it - like me they just want to give something back to a great forum and help fellow card collectors. But go right ahead - give yourself a shiny gold star.

So you are accusing zef and BBCE scamming us on the '75 mini break?
You must be because THEY were the ones in charge of it.

What I was referring to was the blind hate you people spew my way getting in the way of your common sense. I saw through this guy from the getgo, but instead of looking at him carefully, you all jumped to his defense.
Funny how many of 80s own alts are in that thread...I count at least 2.
The 75 case break was 100% legit. Zef was there at the break and Steve Hart did all the shipping direct from BBCE.

80sjunkie was a hype machine on the 75 case break...I know it was legit. 80s got in on the ground floor and became the catalyst for how many breaks? No one else saw this guy's zeal as a big red flag? Or were you blinded by your anti-Axtell sentiments to the point that you couldn't see straight?
I think many people will fall into the latter category.

<<< 80s got in on the ground floor and became the catalyst for how many breaks? >>>
This is true.
<<< No one else saw this guy's zeal as a big red flag? >>>
Frankly, yes I did. But admittedly, I didn't elaborate because I wasn't 100% sure and wasn't interested in the cards offered. Frankly again, I don't trust either, some of these "unopened case" card dealers, even the cherished ones mentioned on this forum, like some of the other members do. I fully understand the fun and entertainment involved in busting packs, but I also have to believe that even a well respected dealer has thoroughly analyzed the value of any particular case, through various means, and if there is a decent chance of busting the packs and turning a good profit then that dealer would do so. The dealer isn't about to allow card collectors many thousands of dollars in definite profit on a case when he can profit himself.
<<< No one else saw this guy's zeal as a big red flag? Or were you blinded by your anti-Axtell sentiments to the point that you couldn't see straight? >>>
See this comment illustrates your basic problem on this forum Axtell. You make good points at times, but then you cloud those points with silly flaming remarks such as this, which had totally nothing to do with this situation - and you of course already know that.
You're like Pete Rose and gambling...Pete loves the gambling more than baseball. You love the flaming more than the forum. You are a flaming addict. LOL
Look at Tinkerbell spin this while trying to pat his/her own back.
This is so typical of you.
You called Gary out ONLY on spamming an event that the community was participating in. Go back and read the thread's context... Not one word about using caution, something smelled fishy, thow a red flag. The only "insight" you provided were insults, circumventing the bad word filter, and negativity.
Now and in hindsight, you were forewarning people of his bad intentions? And to top it all off, you are trying to take credit for it?
Sad and pathetic.
So where were you when Gary was getting outed?
Oh yeah, that's right, you were too busy flaming here on the Sports Talk Forum.
Enjoy what little time you have left here, Tinkerbell, because you are about to get bammed yet AGAIN.
I'll go slow for you.
No one likes you here.
You have been banned TWICE from these forums.
Get the point?

Show us one, just ONE post where you even remotely implied Gary was up to no good.
Again, where were you when Gary was being outed and what where you doing when his past was being researched?
You are the definition of a hypocrite.

I believe in an interview Steve from BBCEx gave to the SMR sometime last year he stated that opening old wax was a big gamble and that it was smarter to leave it sealed so I think that shows where his head is at when it comes to his business model. He makes his money by tracking down vintage wax and flipping it. He isn't locked away in his office searching packs and cases to see how many PSA 10's he might have on his hands.
Correct, it is called risk aversion. Steve gets his profit up front and it is known. Opening packs is 100% like the lottery and as long as you understand the risk involved it is all ok. I think one thing that should be stated for newbies in this hobby is that just because a box has o/c cards, dings or did not have the big RC's it does not mean the box was bad. It was just bad luck and older wax is a gamble. Another thing most people like to crow about their pulls but you don't hear too much about the crap boxes and that might taint someone who is new at older wax busting to think every box should have the nuts in it.

Steve has always sold a combo of wax and graded cards on Ebay but I really doubt the majority of the graded stuff comes from packs and boxes he rips. That would be a real big gamble in my book.
Wintersfan I agree, Steve indicated in a post that unopened keeps it value unopened, opening it is a crapshoot. He has more will power than I have, lol.
I would be ripping stuff like crazy if it sat in inventory to long.

Why is that wp? Becuase I kick your ass up and down this forum every time you post and expose you as the fraud you really are?
In your dreams fella. by the way 'becuase' is spelled BECAUSE
Typical of you to point out a spelling error on my part and yet you do the very same thing. DOPE
