Mike, In my early days on this board you answered several concerns of mine. You demonstrated nothing but class.I hope you are just venting as I do at times and you reconsider.

Tony My vent was timed to the incidents at hand - I was very disappointed but, tho melodramatic, was trying to make a point - the method in which we post is important.
If two people chose to argue - as in the case of Bri and RichG - that's their decision - in the end each will say what they feel is necessary to maintain their dignity.
But, when someone steals another's identity - by using their personal icon and posting in the similar style, to make them look foolish, mock them or attempts at humiliation - that's just plain unfair!
That was my position.
And, now, I've decided to fight it - I would have done the same if someone did that to a friend here.
Mike your a great person.. you helped me out a bunch when i had the college store. dont let one jerkoff make you go away. to many people here respect you!!! so in time that a__hole will be gone!
Glad to hear you're standing up for yourself instead of running off. I would have hated to see you go.
I'd like to also add that my frustration wasn't about your post and how your cat saved your computer. I don't mind an OT post from the regulars around here. In fact, the off topic posts are how I feel I "know" a lot of you guys even though we've never met. A lot of them are fun and they let us know each other better.
My frustration is in the bickering posts, and the trolls who start them, as well as (like I said before) when I start a post and get no response. I guess when that's the case my thread isn't worth a $hit and isn't important to anyone but me. But it does suck sometimes to not get a reply and then see some of the sillier stuff get all the attention. Like showing up to a party you weren't invited to.
Again, just shaking my head at a different reason than you, but glad to see you'll hang around. Looking forward to your replies.
i was going to ask you: now that you've decided to fight back & have the testimonies of a multitude of board members who will fight along with and for you... what's the strategy to rid ourselves of this idiot?
I can't let this thread go without showing you my support. I have enjoyed our friendship here and appreciated the many times you supported me and gave me advice.
I have been in Toronto for a week, so I miss things from time to time. I briefly saw some threads from the trolls that are mocking you. It has nothing to do with how you treated anyone--you were nothing but nice around here. Some people who had disturbed lives see a nice guy like you on these boards and wish they can be like you and get all that attention. All they can do is target you. They hate it that you are so nice. In some twisted way, they think they can become just as liked by having you out of the way, but that's not the case. It is twisted logic, so let us not dwell on this--it is something for clinical psychologists.
Someone said it here already....but you are high profile here, so that makes you an even easier target for the trolls. Also, I like your attitude about not responding to those threads as to not give it any credance or legitimacy.
Hopefully this thread gives you encouragement that many people want you on here. Please let me know how I can help you. Use PM or this thread. Letters to the mods? Just say the word.... I am serious about actively helping you. If geography were not an obstacle right now, I would have been at your door step with a case of premium German beer to relax and just chat with you.

As we know, these guys will return - it's just the first time, to my knowledge, that anyone has been targeting in this way.
It's monday - my schedule fell apart - gonna be slow!
Let me just say - YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!!
We'll continue to strive and make this a great place to share knowledge and sometimes of ourselves.
Finally, everything's relative - in 6 months they'll be talking about the good ole days of 2005. I don't think anyone meant anything by talking about the good ole days - but I agree with those, like myself, that we're here now and these are the good ole days - NOW.
Good to see you around Mike. Wouldnt be the same if you jumped ship.
I have to add my two cents here regarding the " good old days " stuff that I hear alot too.
Now, I have not been here nearly as long as some, and I kind of have a problem when I hear that stuff too. I understand having an affection and a bond with fellow members you have been communicating with for years, and the satisfaction of knowing you were one of the original members when this community was just taking off, but in the end, saying you miss the old days and the way it used to be comes off as very elitist to me.
To those who make the comments like that, please dont take what I am saying as fuel for a fight, I am by no means trying to stir one up. I am just trying to show how it sounds to others who enjoy this community, and want to be part of it, but who hanvt been here as long as some of you. When I hear things like that said it makes me feel like there is no way myself or other " newer " members will ever be good enough for you old boys. It comes across like you are members of some exclusive country club who dont want to let the new guys into your club and your world.
I understand the feelings behind some of those good old days sentiments, I honestly do. I can understand the annoyance when bickering and threads dedicated to fighting back and forth occur. I have been guilty of this lately with one member in particular. For that I apologize to every member. It was nobodys fault but my own getting suckered into a childish war, and it is something I dont plan on getting involved in again, for my own good, and the good of the community.
Mike, this is the biggest reason I did not want to see you go, as I am sure it is the same for others. From the day I joined here you welcomed me, and made me feel welcome. I am thankful for that and the chance you give everyone from day one to feel accepted and welcomed.

Geez, I vanish for a few weeks, posting sparingly, and all hell breaks loose. I always end up missing the character assassination plots...
Mike, don't let the shnitzel get to you. Trolls will be trolls, they stay under foot and under bridges for a reason. Most still live at home in mommy's basement anyway...
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?
