It tells you nothing about the sellers integrity if he is willing to work the ebay system to save his customers money
It tells me alot about his integrity. You screw your buyers and they leave Ebay leaving ALL sellers high and dry. It is also the abuse of the system that is a reason Ebay has to raise fees for honest sellers. Who do you think pays for the 200,000 a year your average Wal-Mart loses to shoplifters??
Again please tell me your Ebay ID so I can choose never to buy from you and can add you to my BBL.
<< <i>Even though the seller is obviously charging way too much for shipping, he did infact explain what the shipping charge was going to be. With this said, the buyer should pay the price and call it a lesson learned (It sounds like he already undestands this). However, I'm suprised as to how many people on this board would complain well after the fact about the shipping charge they agreed to pay when they placed their bid. If I'm the seller, and one of you complainers emailed me, I would tell them that in future auctions I will look into lowering the shipping cost, but would do nothing concerning with auction as it is already over. Weren't you the one who said people shouldn't just give their ebay IDs out over a message board?
If I was him, I wouldn't be too eager to give my Ebay ID out to you either. You sound like the type who would use a alt ebay account to neg someone over a message board dispute.
Hey, you think it is wrong to place a high shipping cost (even if clearly stated), and I have no problem with it.
I'll ask you again to define "High". Who are you to tell people what they can charge for their time?
If the investment banker who bills his time @ $500/hour charges only $25/hr to ebay customers he ships to is it still "High"?
If the guy who works @ the local card shop earning $10/hour charges his ebay customers $15/hour for time spent at the post office is it "High"?
It is ALL relative and ALL resonable so long as the shipping charges are clearly stated.
It is good to know that this community which I have just joined is overflowing with goodwill for ebay. Someone please tell me How did ebay earn such a stellar reputation with you guys?
It is not really a matter of what I or anyone else says is too high what matters is what Ebay says is too high. If I see an auction that is 1 cent with a very high S/H I will report it to Ebay. The have gotten strict about it I had one pulled the other day with a 1 penny BIN and a 4.99 S/H.
I have bought nice items where the seller has shipping way too high, but overall it hurts the marketplace. Again who pays more when some Ebay sellers break the rules costing Ebay money?? The honest sellers do.
I really do not need your ID as I already know it and can bring threads over from Ebay's seller central where you made the exact same argument for high shipping and actually asked another member for the same info you just did me when you came back to the thread under a posting ID. Thanks for answering it that way.
<< <i>agree with all who state that the buyer is at the mercy of the seller if terms are clearly stated....HOWEVER, i had the impression that eBay recently declared war on cheatin' bastiges who rip you to ship to you....i guess the war is over? >>
Funny how Ebay will declare war on people who are charging too high of shipping but dont care about all the fraudulent auctions. I guess there is no money in fighting fraud.

This thread has gone from intelligent discussion to utter nonsense.
And to all of you who report auctions with "high" shipping: Find something more productive to do with your time, you will be much more content with yourself.
Really, you have got to be one MISERABLE SOB to waste your own valuable time trying to get someones auctions removed from ebay....
Either that or you really have no self-esteem and feel that your time is worthless,
so why not try to ruin someone elses BUY IT NOW for .01 with 9.99 shipping
GET A LIFE GUYS!!
And think about it, if the auction gets removed ebay gets ZERO FEES.... if it sells BUY IT NOW for .01 ebay still gets some fees .....
So by reporting the auction and getting it removed......
YOU ACTUALLY MAKE YOUR OWN EBAY FEES GO UP EVEN MORE THAN IF YOU HAD JUST LET WELL ENOUGH ALONE
you seem oddly passionate about this issue, but I'd recommend toning down the rhetoric a bit if you want others to even entertain your opinions.

I feel like I'm message board hell. How many more times do I have to read that before it makes any sense at all?

You don't have to bid when you think shipping is to high..... In fact I like it better that way (less comp. for my bids)
You only hurt yourself by refusing to bid for that reason.
Do you know how many auctions i have won for .01 because no one else wanted to accept "High" shipping costs?
Did you really think your childish taunting would get me to post my ebay ID?
In any case I'd consider posting my Ebay ID as soon as you post your:
1. Name
2. Mailing Ad.
3. Phone #
4. SS #
5. DOB
6. Mothers Maiden Name
7. Ebay ID
