Show a Coin that would even Impress a Non-Believer

braddickbraddick Posts: 24,531 ✭✭✭✭✭
They're out there. Those who don't believe Coin Collecting is the greatest hobby on the face of the earth. They shrug when collecting is mentioned and simply don't get it. Now, show a coin you think would even have those non-believers looking twice!

I'll start, although I'm sure there are better examples of what I'm seeking in this thread...
I chose this coin as I don't believe most non-collectors have ever seen a Standing Liberty quarter that was uncirculated. Most people have seen many of the various clad State quarters and I would think, upon viewing an attractive Standing Liberty quarter in sparkling gem uncirculated, they would appreciate the beauty and desirability of such a coin. I would think. Could be wrong though...

What's your example, and why?

Not the best pic, but it's pretty impressive in person.

Does toning impress non-collectors? I kind of doubt it.

I showed my wife a beautifully toned seated quarter, a rare branch mint issue, and she said it was "ugly" image

Yep, that's correct! Two of the coins had been separated from the whole and were bought separately to restore the set to what it once looked like.

This one is amazing to almost all non collectors. Most dont know that the country made large cents...much less that they exist in this state of preservation...

Anything I have seen from TradeDollarNut would not only impress but probably convert a Non-Believer.
