How accurate is current ANACS grading?

How does CURRENT (new holder) ANACS grading compare to CURRENT PCGS and NGC grading? Have you noticed any difference since they moved to Texas?

How is current ANACS service?

I have 3 seated dimes all just back from Ebay

ALL SEATED DIMES IN ANACS HOLDERS

1864 S Anacs graded VF20 board members the coin VF30- AU 50, I would say the coin is 30 or 35

    1862 S Anacs graded VF30 - I would call this more like a 20-25

    1858 S F12 corroded I would call it a 12 but not corroded.

    Crossovers

    1865 S XF 40 crossovered to a PCGS 40

    1841 O AU50 crossovered to NGC 58 (closer to a 53)

    1887 S MS62 - NGCwould not grade

    1884 S AU50 NGC would not grade

1858 PF61 ( and much nicer) NGC would not grade

take from this what you want. I have stopped submitting to ANACS unless I need a net grade.

So it sounds like their on par with the big two - inconsistent.
  • They seem pretty much on par for MS coins. But they give higher proof grades than the old more technical grade oriented ANACS.
What was a white holder ANACS PR66, would probably go PR67 or even PR68 in the new blue.

This is what I have noticed, but am basing my opinion on a relatively small sample size.

I do the same now as I always did with ANACS. If I have a group of discovery coins or coins that need to be netted to send in with a few "others", I will send them to ANACS. If I have a group of "other" coins large enough to send to PCGS, I do that. Every now and then, I will send a group to NGC.

I did have a little problem with my last order with ANACS, but got it rectified before it left ANACS.
