If they made a decision and announcement that the Gold Buffalo was going to be a one year type - some may actually order 5000. If they could afford it.

I've been looking for a good place to put that extra $4 mill pocket change I have. The only reason I hadn't done anything with it yet was the shipping charges.

In order to ensure the broadest and most fair access to United States Mint products, a limit of 5,000 units per order and per household is in effect. Accordingly, all orders for American Buffalo Gold Proof One Ounce Coins will go immediately into a backorder status to ensure compliance with this policy. This quality assurance process should not impact the estimated delivery time. The United States Mint may reevaluate this limit and either adjust or remove it at any time.

We want to be fair cuz we can't sell them.... so those of you who REALLY believe can now own up to 5000.
WE overestimated our own power to have a say in the global market for the value of gold and now we want to DUMP them on YOU.

Could I order blue ones from the mint, or will I have to make them myself?

Let me further explain my post image b4 limit dealers needed the coins and were not able to buy in quantity...hence dealers were paying anywhere from $850 to $925 for the proofs.... within minutes of the announcement those bids (need) for coins disappeared...... hmmmmmm

Just like the %&*#@ US Mint. No consideration for us households that need 25,000 coins.
