My best wishes go out to Book and I hope he has a speedy and FULL recovery.

The sad thing is that most likely the drunk driver will just get a slap on the wrist. I see it all the time in the court reports in the paper. First offenses getting a fine, six month loss of license, having to attend a class. Later offenses getting fines and one to three year jail terms with all but three or four days suspended etc. Even people who have had their licenses pulled for life and still gotten caught drunk driving might only get two or three months in jail.

There has to be something more we can do to stop drunk driving. Capital Punishment is tempting but probably not passible.

everything in life is but merely on loan to us by our appreciation....lose your appreciation and see

  • Very sorry to hear this. God bless. Praying that everything comes out ok.
Enjoy each day as though it was your last.
  • Julie, I don't know you or BOOK, but I am sorry to hear about your, and his, misfortune. I ride motorcycles and often think if it is worth it because of stories just like this one. Almost every ride I have to mash the brakes or avoid in some way a driver paying little attention to the world around him. I can only hope things turn out as good as can be expected for you and your family.

<< <i>To all of you that know my husband, Glenn Booker, or Book. We were in a motorcycle accident that a drunk ran a stop sign and hit another car and then hit us. I know he has some new friends on this forum. He is in sicu at St. Elizabeth hospital in Youngstown. He had severe head trauma and we are not sure if he will ever be the same. Julie Booker >>

    Will definitely pray for him.

I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

  • PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS ARE STILL NEEDED

I received a PM today from Book's wife. Book is a fighter. He has left the hospital and is now in an Intensive Care Facility learning how to walk and eat again. He is alert and talking and knows who everyone is:The doctors said he would never know his surroundings again. One day we are going to have a nice surprise when Book returns.

  • Jerry- you're a good man on the follow up- keep us posted and ask Book's wife to come on back here and let us know how he is doing.

might be time for a charity drive for the Bookster...

  • that's horrible, especially after reading the article about it.

i don't know Book but I'm a long time motorcycle rider and it makes me cringe when i hear these things. i know it's not much to go on considering the severity of the accident, but thank God he wasn't killed and neither were you, so that means there is still hope for his recovery.

my thoughts and prayers are with you.........
