Just sprung for a year of BidNapper....

I am now an official sniper. I had never really messed with snipes too much and did most manually, well after trying their 10 day free trial I was hooked. I won more than I had in a long time. Anyways after my trial was up I could never go back to the cave man ways of manual bidding so I paid $46.95 for a year of unlimited snipes. I really like this service and would recomend the 10 free trial to anyone here.

So you're paying money so that you can pay even more money?

Looking for Jonny Gomes cards, especially Triple Threads and printing plates. Will consider all cards, though. Got something? Contact me at c_u_l_1@yahoo.com

Do you have to be online for your bids to register, or does the software use their server?

Any issues with using a browser other than IE, like Firefox?

I've been using BidNapper for half a year now and it's great. It's reliable and a snap to use. image

If you have an "always on" internet connection like a cable modem (and an always on computer), just get JBidwatcher. It's freeware (donate if you like the program, don't if you don't), and it works great! I've been using it for almost a year now, and rarely ever bid manually on eBay anymore.
    Who is Rober Maris?
  • I'll never bid manually even if I'm available to do so (I would probably get occupied doing something else and forget to bid). I'm a big esnipe fan.

That's what I'm wondering with Auction Sentry.

I have a cable modem but my computer travels with me around the country so I need a server based snipe service. Also, despite a router firewall, software firewall and the added security of Firefox vs. IE I go offline when not using the computer.
  • What happens when you are bidding against someone who also has sniper service? Are some programs faster than others? I am unfamiliar with these servives. Do they have guarantees?

If someone else is sniping, it's the highest bid that matters, not who bids first, except when you both try to bid the same amount, in which case the first to get their bid in wins.

The whole point of sniping is that you don't leave your bid exposed for hours or even days, giving others the opportunity to bid you up.

I have the same deal with traveling with a laptop. Bidnapper is like Ronco Rotisouree (badly mispelled I am sure)
"JUST SET IT... AND FORGET IT!"

I nailed 3 more auctions tonight thanks to this.

I have a question that maybe can be answered by you folks that regularly use the sniper service's. When you set the service to bid on a particular auction would the seller of that auction be able to tell by his EBAY Bidders Watching column if the service was keyed in or does it just apply the bids in the last seconds as if a person wrote down a auction number at home and went on line at the last minute to bid? Just Curious.

I'm pretty sure it doesnt show up in the watchers list, unless the bidder is watching it anyway.
The way Bidnapper works is, they use a proxy server that uses a timer and when a certain time is hit the server signs on to your E-bay account and places the bid for you up to the max you entered for them to bid.
