Found in change (Modern Crap warning)

Usually when I get a bright, shiny quarter in change, I can count on it being one of the current year's state quarters. Not today:

Sucks about the obverse scratch, though.

Cool find. That scratch is probaby why it ended up in change.

Almost looks like an obverse die crack the way the field changes on either side of the line.

Might thoughts as well, looks like a die crack.

Have you looked at it closely to see if its a scratch or crack?

Regardless, its a cool find worth saving just because.....................
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Most people will think this isn't pretty because the strike isn't the best and the dies
were worn but really it's about as good as they come made for circulation. Well, it's
in the top couple percent anyway.

'67 is a pretty tough year to find nice. Only the '66, '68-D and '69 are harder among
the early issues on a percentage basis.

Nice find but it is a shame about the scratch.

Very nice! I'd double check the scratch as a die crack as well.

Today was an interesting day for finds in change - I found a 1988-P quarter that was broadstruck!

It's definitely a scratch. Very well could be a spent body-bag for all that matters. Other than the scratch, the biggest grade limiting factor is probably the weak strike on the reverse proximal left wreath leaves. The other quarter I got in change was a scruffy AU Louisiana. Put the two portraits side by side and you'd think the Louisiana one was a third world fake.
