    << <i>What were your negs, Marty? >>

There were all retalitory negs, back about 3 years ago I sold 6 gold coins to a buyer in Europe. After 45 days of no payment I Neged him, 2 days later he was NARUed. But not before he hit me with 6 Negs. At that time E-Bay wouldn't remove Negs at all. Plus unlike Positive feed back (1 per user), Negs ALL count. I have asked E-Bay to remove them, and got the tough chit answer.

They count negatives the same way they count positives. If a single user gives you 10 positives, it counts as a net of one positive for the top line feedback number. If a single user gives you 10 negatives, it counts as a net of one negative for the top line feedback number.

Yeah, you can have those kind of numbers when you refuse to provide feedback until after the bidder does.

Yeah, you can have those kind of numbers when you refuse to provide feedback until after the bidder does

That might keep an occassional wild card bidder from submitting an unwarrented negative for a minor problem (whether real or imagined), but it is more of a matter of convenience for me. When I began on ebay, feedback could be left even without having had a transaction with someone. If you actually read my feedback, you'll see that I acheived that level of perfect feedback from good customer service...not feedback extortion. If withholding feedback was a guarantee of perfect feedback, there would be no sellers with any negatives.
I have lobbied ebay on several occassions to change their feedback system to allow amenable feedback. That would permit a user to change their feeedback from + to - or visa versa with the follow-up comment option. Then no one would feel they were being held hostage with their feedback. That would alleviate the dilemma of who should leave feedback first. The mutually retracted feedback option doesn't help if a user leaves a positive first and then gets a negative in response (deserved or not).

Jamie, Your feedback is kickass! I've always been impressed with it.

Of course, having purchased coins from you (two just recently) I know it comes well earned. Excellent emails and follow-through from beginning to end. Honest descriptions with unaltered photos along with fast and secure shipping.

You can be proud of your feedback as in the coin world satisfying everyone is damn near impossible yet you've beaten those odds.
