First of all, how often do you see a fight at any ball park make the papers? Have you ever been to a football game? They happen at baseball games too, ya dink. Second, NYC papers have a LOT more to report on than a fight between a drunk and a cop. You really are naive.

Sorry, I have no plans on a p*ssing match with you as to where to hang out. You are definately childish enough to try and one up anyone on here.

Next, you know nothing of me or my parents...nor do you even know if they are even alive. I wouldnt give you any satisfaction of knowing anything about my personal life. Do you normally say things like that about people's family without even knowing them? You are a sick and weak minded individual. That alone proves it.

You are a piece of crap. Nothing more, nothing less.

    yankeeno-

if there were indeed officers of the NYPD assulted and beaten in the stands by your so called 'fans', that would indeed be news. But, as always, you got called on your bullchit story and you have nothing to back it up.

If I am such a piece of crap (as you so eloquently put it), then why are you still here?

Either post factual information about cops being beaten in the stands by the hooligans in yankee stadium, or shut yer yap. Your choice.
  • I see nothing changes on these boards.....lol. I go away on business (BTW Bri, I am sorry I did not mention that I was away again), and it is still Axtell vs. Yankee player crotch sniffers. Now it is hilarious to see east coasters talking tough, especially those in New Yawk, the only slapping you'd do is patting the behind of your circle jerking buddy! You wanna be tough, spend 5 minutes in the ghettos of Detroit, which had the streets that I used as my personal urinal on my drunken trips back from Canada, gotta love their drinking laws! A cop beaten in the bleachers of Yankee Stadium, nuh uh, I do not think so, first off, everyone would have heard about it, and secondly, I am sure 1,000 fans would come to said cop's aid. National media would have been on that fast, but it would have been mentioned like this, "Yankee fans assist cop in need, what great people they are," but if something like that would happen in Detroit, it would go like this, "Detroit is the murder capital for a reason!" You east coasters wanna be tough, come take a trip with me out by Detroit's city airport!!!!

  • On a few instances, I see the comment on the order of, "you would not talk to me like that if we were at a bar," comments like that. I have been to parts of Detroit, where people who live in the city would not enter even if they were strapped. DC has some wicked areas, as well as Detroit, but why do people not visit this area, one MAIN reason, they are afraid. There are a ton of things to do in and around Detroit, but who knows of these, area residents, why, because out-of-towners are afraid. I was in the Seattle area last summer, Kirkland to be exact, and plan on going in August (I will let you know when and if I do go Bri), I met quite a few acquaintances of my girlfriend's family, tell them where I am from, and they wonder how I am still walking on this earth. They all ask, "do you get shot at," I am like, "YUP," they ask, "what do you do then," I reply, "SHOOT BACK AND NOT MISS!" I have had my share of fights with hoods, muslims, and uneven odds in fighting at bars, two hoods once tried to rob me too, at a White Castle no less, and the only thing they got off me was my Miami Dolphins hat. But wanting to stress that one person would not say anything to another, because he does not like your Yankee team and expresses valid points, and talks as if he is the alpha male, that cracks me up. These same "alpha males" would not last 5 minutes in thugville, and if they did, they would have wished they wore their Huggies!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I last 5 minutes in the Black Hole, you can surely bet I can!!!!!

That might be the funniest post ever, stating you have seen NYPD being beatin up in the stands! Are you kidding me? I can garantee that would have been a headline in the news for sure, I know plenty of people that have been to Yankee games wearing Sox jersy's and seen Yankee fans in Fenway donning their Yanks shirts as well outside of heckling and some boo's maybe but beat up? Maybe a bathroom fight but Cops getting taken out? imageimage

I would have to say that of the 200 plus times I have been to Yankee stadium in my life I HONESTLY can not recall one major fist fight in the stands. NOT ONE. I have seen people get kicked out for throwing things, being way to drunk, pushing and shoving, and general bad behavior but I have to say that I have never witnessed a major fist fight in Yankee stadium when some actually got their a$$ kicked.

I second that. Over the course of 25 or so years I have been to a couple of hundred games and not seen anything more than a minor scuffle, and certainly not any raging brawl. The biggest example of violence I have witnessed at a Yankee game was about 10 years ago when a drunk and troubled Twins fan got pummeled outside on the streets. He was the instigator from what I gathered, but he was bleeding like Big Ben after a bike wreck on the curb.

So you know, this was all before 9/11. It's what I saw. It was a mini-riot in the bleachers and yes, it happened. I agree that today it would be different with people more likely to get involved.

I never said that this was at all a daily occurrance, or even a yearly. I have seen fights occur at baseball games, football games, IFC fights...it happens, and it isnt reported in the papers or on the news.

And you all want to continue with a p*ssing match who cant survive in the tougher area...I stated I am not going to do that...I dont hang out in the bad areas and dont plan to. Have I been through them? Sure..most of us probably have. But saying that you have been in a tougher area doesnt make YOU tough.

I really dont care if anyone believes me...just stating that it happens and Ive seen it.

    Barry,

no doubt $hit happens eventually. I am not saying I don't believe you but I certainly have never seen a full blown FIGHT in the stands. But I don't attend every game by a long shot. I go to 5-10 games per year, every year. I live in southern new jersey so it is a good 2 hour trip one way ..... not something I am willing to do every night!

That is fine man, BUT I have to agree with others that when a NYPD cop gets beat up it is NEWS in New York. No matter where it happens. The New York media is ALL ABOUT covering the NYPD on all fronts. Again, not saying I don't believe that a melee happened, but a NYPD cop gets his a$$ kicked? Should be some kind of reference on that.

I have seen fights in the stands at yankee stadium and shea.

I also believe that a cop could have gotten pummelled in a mele <sp> in the bleachers. Not every fight makes it to the newspapers or TV nightly news.

One night after a game the idiots in the upperdecks at the stadium threw plastic coke bottle after coke bottle down on the cops that had circled the field. the cops response? they looked like they would kick the a$$es of the people in the lower field level if they came unto the field. We on the lower field were behaving while the idiot thugs upstairs threw hundreds of things.

the police treated the people in the lower stands as if they were the ones doing the throwing, almost taunting us to come forward.

btw my father is a retired police chief.

Just returned to FL from a four day trip to NYC. Wanted to take the wife to a Yanks game and show her the city. Let me tell you, there is no city like it. We traveled all around Manhattan and into the Bronx - no trouble anywhere. Sure I grew up around Philly and it has it's own brand of urban life, but NYC is it's own animal. This is where everyone in the world comes to see the U.S., many to begin a new life. It truly is the capital of the world.

Anyway, the Yanks-Indians game on Wednesday. Great seats five rows up from Melky in left. All of the fans within earshot had nothing but encouragement for this guy. Sure they ragged him when he was playing badly but at this point all of the comments were along the line of "keep up the good work, don't give up."

Which brings me to Arod. First at bat. Much of the stadium stood and cheered him on. What more does anyone (fans and those here) want to prove that the city is behind this guy. He struck out I think. Some boos, but mostly loud groans. Second AB. Gets to first on an error. Those who were not already on their feet rose and cheered him on. Hey, these fans are behind him. Not a good game for the man. Think he struck out twice.

I have seen much worse in Philly. It is the fans prerogative to voice their discontent. They will do so loudly and often. This is the culture of sport. We did not create it. It has existed for thousands of years. We just don't feed the loser to the lions anymore.

NYC will stay behind Arod and will help him again reach the level to which he aspires. He wants to post MVP numbers again. I don't care how he does it. There have been many successful players that some would call whack jobs. Clemens puts Icy Hot in his jock. Tell me that's normal. Al Hrabosky talked to himself on the mound. Pedro had his own midget mascot. Urbina whiles away his offseason trying to burn the help. Players wear the same uni, underwear, eat the same food, anything to keep a streak alive. We will always have different ways to seek success. Seeking advice from a licensed medical professional? That's actually very healthy if you're having trouble. Just because a man is the best player in the game doesn't mean he recognizes that in his head, and there is no problem with that. What many would call a fear of failure may actually be a fear of success - maintaining a level. The problem is not seeking help.

Thanks NYC for a great visit. From Murray Hill to Little Italy, Chinatown, Tribeca and the Bronx, Times Square and Herald Square. On and off the subway, walking the streets we encountered nothing but crowded streets and good people and the same goes for Yankee Stadium.

There is a reason that the sun shines first each day on the East Coast. It's certainly the best. DC to Boston - can't beat it. I just live in FL for the weather and the year round scantily clad women.

Yeah we were right next to each other. A nice section with a good view.

Really liked the experience of seeing and hearing the bleacher crowd across from us in left center. They seem to keep the crowd going.

What a coincidence that we were so close. Wish I knew I'd have said hi.

Next month - Yanks in Tampa. Got five seats for my father in law for Dads Day. He and I will see the game with his three daughters, all rabid Yanks fans.

Yeah I saw the pens empty. Was looking toward the plate then saw them come out. Couldn't really tell right away that Johnson was out since the ump threw the thumb right after the pitch. Just saw him walking toward the dugout during the scrum and figured he didn't want to get into it. Then of course he kept walking to the c'house.

Wrong or not I think the incident helped invigorate the fans and helped him in their eyes. He had a solid outing.

Say what you will about the Yanks, but here is one thing I noticed. How many teams can field DHs like Jeter or Giambi when they're sore and can't take the field. Many players would just sit out.

Bernie seems to be stepping up too and had a couple of good plays on Wednesday. The fans love this guy. He's got class and is just as much Mr. Yankee as any other on the roster.

It was a great experience and the wife loved it. She got goosepimples several times on the stadium tour and during the game. I did too of course.

    Guys

It is quite possible that a cop got beat up, pummelled, whatever you want to call it at Yankee Stadium (or any stadia) for that matter. Does not mean it has to make the papers. Hell it could have been buried on page 12. Or the day it happened more newsworthy stories could have been used instead. I do not understand why some of you think it is impossible for it to have happened and not been reported.

NYC is not Bugtussel oklahoma where if the dog warden gets bit it is page one news.

Unlike your town in OK, there are how many more reporters, newspapers, and tv stations all hungry for a story such as that?

If it truly did happen, even before 9/11, imagine the national attention it would have received? Not only the local news and sports, but it would have gone national.

I still stick by my initial call of BS on yankeeno's 'claim'.

    Good for you.

  • << <i>Going to an Eagles game is much more treacherous

have you ever been to one? If so, you definition of "treacherous" is quite different than mine. >>

Well I went to the opening(I believe it was a monday night game) at their new field. Now I'm a Giants fan through and through, but hey I can't pass up a good game with some buds. Nothing happened to us of course but I literally saw fans that wore other teams jersey get the jerseys ripped off of them and literally dissapear underneath the mob. It didn't just happen once or twice, I personally saw 5 of those type instances happen in my section/area. Now you compare that to the "Black Hole" where grown men don Star Wars uniforms and outfits befitting 1980's WWF Tag Teams; lil less intimidating. Treacherous in a "sports arena" way.

Meant the town you listed in your example.

The link you posted has nothing to do about a fight in the stands, the 'rumble' is over city development, and nothing at all to do with any fights in yankee stadium. They are having to deal with the 1.2 billion dollar yankee stadium plan.

As far as topps, you ignorant tool, I would love to see you venture to those 'star wars' looking guys in the black hole and tell them they look ridiculous. Please tell us when you plan on doing so, so we can notify your next of kin, as you'd be beaten to a pulp.

What retraction? The article WP posted has nothing at all to do with any brawls in yankee stadium. Perhaps its time for you to go crawl back under your rock?
  • Well I'm going out to Sacramento(sp) this fall to do some editing/mastering on a little project of mine and I hope to catch a Raiders game. Hey, I'm a fan of the Raiders but that doesn't mean I don't get a kick out of the fools in the "Black Hole". Like always if someone tried to pick a fight with me, I'll only fight if thats the last resort. Come on guy, I'm over 18 I know I can get into some real legal chit. I haven't been beaten to a pulp yet and I don't some guy rocking a Darth Vader halloween costume will be the guy to do it. lol, boy wouldn't that be a story. "Tourist beat by Legion of Doom and Darth Vader after wisecracks; continues laughing after ribs impale a lung". lol, I actually can't wait to go to a Raiders game.

Btw, the Article he posted was about the headline making "NYPD shooting NYPD" at a White Castle. If I remember the correct incident it was actually caught on the security camera at the shop. I remember catching it early some morning before hopping onto the beltway. I'll admit the story he linked wasn't of any incident involving law enforcement/fan scuffling.

BTW, whatsup with you and the Yankees? I mean if you have a favorite team, why don't you ever post about them? lol, hater.

Like I said, run your mouth there saying the same things as you've been yapping about here, and we'll notify your next of kin for ya. Yes, they dress up, yes they take it to extremes, yes, they are passionate, and yes, they wouldn't hesistate to stomp some out of towner running his yap.

Did you even read the story of the link he posted? I did, and the 'rumble' in the headline referred to what was basically a city council meeting that got heated over the number of items being pushed up for a vote, one of which involved funding for yankee stadium.

<< <i>BTW, whatsup with you and the Yankees? I mean if you have a favorite team, why don't you ever post about them? lol, hater. >>

What's up with you and your inability to make any sense? I mean if you have a brain, why don't you ever post using it?

Hater? You're over 18 now? I am guessing 19, 'tops'?

Lol, your running your yap right now. "Extreme Dressup!" lol. At any stadium anyone can get stomped out by a crowd. It doesn't make it "Extreme".

This was the article I was referring to Axtell, not the City Council link that was given. It was under "More Articles" or something to that effect. Upper right hand side of the page, click the link then scroll down. What I'm referring to did make headlines around the nation.

Ok so an assault took place at a white castle...why was this brought up as a result of supposed fan violence in yankee stadium again?

  • Ax, I have no idea. Maybe WP just googled it and didn't actually look into it. I remember seeing a clip on this on headlines news tho.

You are right Ax, Yankee fans never fight and they certaintly never have hit a cop. How silly of me not to see that. because had it did in fact happened , it would have made your local news and then you surly would have come here and blasted them for it.

    Steve

edited................I did not look into it. I googled 'cop beaten at yankee stadium' and that came up.

    sorry for the confusion.

    Good for you.

Of course if there was a headline "Cop Beaten At Yankee Stadium" the teaser would read -

"Suspect Dies Mysteriously At Rikers Island"

Justice is swift among the NYPD.
