I have staryed away from almost everything except my 59 topps that is currently #11 on the registery.I have a nice collection of odd ball stuff mainly old WS Programs and Older Yearbooks and many autographs of player from the late 40s 50s and early 60s.A full run of 1959 Sporting News issues and a large run of Sporting News Guides and Registers.
Fiveniner...curious how you display your sporting news and programs... Mike, the cabinetry was a combination of cad-cam designed milling (cmc milling ) ... crown moulding ..and with respect to the bats and balls, the cabinet maker actually cut them( real bats and balls) in half and then attatched them to the wood.
Great pics and an awesome collection! I enjoy collecting sports memorabilia as well. I am mainly into the Minnesota Twins and Vikings but also have a large collection of publications, programs, yearbooks, nodders, hartlands, kail statues, sports glassware and more stuff. If I get some time, I will post a few pictures (if I can figure out how to do it). Cool thread!!
Always looking to buy old Minnesota Twins and Vikings memorabilia like Nodders, Photo Pennants, and Photo Buttons.
Blaze- Great Display! How did you frame those programs? I've got a run of W.S. programs from '54 until the '80s but they are just in bags in a pile. You did a great job showing them off.

Unfortunately I do not display them NO ROOM.However I see some great ideas in this thread.I think its time I redo the room.
So all the stuff we are looking at is in your office? Very cool!
And on the thing about "I don't want to brag" - showing what you have collected and prize is not showing off IMO - I very much enjoy seeing what people are collecting.
The quality of the programs, score cards that you have is off the chart!
Those are complete programs framed? It's really hard to display that kind of stuff.
I dont' have a dig camera - I scan everything - when I do - I will take some pics.
Also, if you ever get down to San Antonio - LMK - hopefully my room will be done by then.
ooops... Yes, those are complete programs. I am trying not to be too OCD and try to get every year....I have no-where to display them and I don't like to put them in boxes and forget about them....on the other hand, see below.
those are complete runs of the sporting news.....'27 being the pick of the litter, and in great bound condition. Since I collect stuff associated with the opening of the HOF, 1939 is also a favorite. BUT WHAT CAN I DO WITH THEM? I really don't want to let the unwashed masses handle/read them..( of course I'm not referring to you very clean members:1grouphug Just to show you all how silly my adiction is:
Nada....my wife supports my obsession as long as it's at my office. At home I do have a few price guides to help me as I prowl the ebay hunting grounds. My office is 1 mile from my house, and with my reef tank and collection so close, I get my fix. My son wants to put an in-wall tank at home, but I get enough enjoyment with my corals at work...I guess the same with my "stuff" Plus...where would I put this milk jersey??
If anyone can give me any info on this type of jersey, it would be appreciate. The label says MILK JERSEY...the buttons spell M,I,L,K and the top and bottom buttons havea drawing of a bottle. This specific milk jersey was signed by minor leaguers in 1939 and note the patch on the back. SWEET!
Nice to see a thread that acknowledges interests beyond graded cards! Like others who've responded, I collect a variety of things besides psa-graded cards. I especially like vintage game programs, yearbooks and mags, both for their own historical value and as displays for autos. Apologies for shifting from the focus on baseball-related items, but here's a question for the experts: What's the best way to remove mailing labels from vintage items like the Cousy cover below? I've heard about using hair dryers and the like, but do older covers require special treatment? And what's the success rate, based on your experience? Thanks for the advice!

Good night, folks!
"All evil needs to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
Not sure if this the way to do it...here goes nothing...
You'll have to explain what the chest is? Who carved it and so forth?
Although I don't think I want to see my dentist handling a baseball bat - not exactly the kind of local anesthetic I had in mind?
thanx for sharing

If I may make a suggestion, since your thread seems to have taken off, you may want to change the name of the thread to perhaps:
THE OFFICIAL General Baseball Memorabilia Thread ( or some semblance of....)
Since you were the originator of this thread you are the ONLY one who can do this.
Go to your original post of this thread and click EDIT.............There you can change the title of the thread....

Purists might want to warn me about acid free paper and UV protection, but I put them in mylar bags ( except the '29 ws). My more valuable stuff is in my consultation room and that cabinet is all uv protecting glass.

Before the days of video games, this is what kids played with: a marble action game
This is the Roger Maris Board game from the early 60s.
This is part of the box.
Board games are a great thing to collect and affordable - displaying? I will probably "rack" display them like a department store would do.

Nice cover Mike - if ya find out how to remove a label - let me know.

Nice pic pack! The Lamonica on top is off the chart!
I have been a Raider fan since 1970! Blanda was his backup - nothing like bailing out the star and then kicking your own PAT!
thanx
