Does Anyone Have an All Time Favorite Thread

In keeping with talking about some of the people who have left, I thought about threads that I found either controversial, out and out ludicrous, very funny etc.
Well - this is my all time favorite!
The guy was Collector222 and he tried to hoodwink everyone into thinking he was starting a new grading company.

It has many twists and turns but the whole thing started to unravel when Josh aka A76 found his apartment was on the IU campus! He also had an alterego in "bigcollector222" - this was one of the few times that I lost my cool and told someone to fuckoff!
Anyone else?

I loved that. Helped me get a good idea of which ones are truly "untouchable". Plus it lead to me corresponding with Bob, and that has been very informative, entertaining, and if I never get anything else out of this forum, it's been invaluable.
keeping my ears open for oddball cards of Rose from the 60's and 70's.
Yes it's none other than "nedsk"
The usual member griping and also a new twist.
waxfromthepast Ryan chimed in. Of course he is now involved in a little imbroglio himself after touting his expertise and relationship with GAI, then being cut from them recently.
Just goes to show that established dealers like BBCE always come out ahead.

PS. With your return, Mike, it got me to wondering about another regular poster who has disappeared....where is RBDJR? He used to post links to all his ebay auction wins. It got under some guys' skin, but I always enjoyed seeing his recent pick-ups.

That was actually a Beckett thread.

I think the thread you posted isn't even the one when Ryan said that he never makes a mistake and that all GAI product from Oct. 2005 will never have any problems because of his huge ego err. amount of knowledge.
What is the detailed story about Ryan being cut from GAI?
<< <i>Man, that nedsk thread was too much for me. Anybody have the Cliffs Notes?

The best person to give a rundown would probably be Winpitcher - Steve has a memory like a steel trap and of course was one of the "contributors."

Thread One - my first visit to Yankee Stadium.
Thread Two - the day I met Babe Ruth.

<< <i>That was a good one, Stone. The implosions are always the most entertaining. I'm a little partial to the epic Terrell Fudin thread on the Sports Talk board. >>
That was the classic, to me. Felt like you were watching Sybil have her last breakdown.
Be good my brothers.
There have been so many dam good threads here. In my opinion this forum is the best baseball card forum on the internet, and it's not even close. I enjoy Sports Talk and all the rest the CU forum has to offer including the Open Forum. I even enjoy some of those stories in the Metal Detecting Forum because I also have a coin collection. But my coin collection has mostly been dormant for quite some time and my main interest has been the cards.
My main reason for coming here is for the cards. So my favorite threads have been about the cards I specifically enjoy collecting such as 1962 and 1965 Topps as well as all cards from the 50's, 60's and 70's, some 80's and some pre-WW2, and even some modern. Just recently there was a thread on the 1962 Topps Stamps issue in which I learned about a Roy Sievers stamp that probably wasn't issued - I may be one of the few people in the world who cares about that, but things like that keeps this forum very interesting to me. And yes, for sure, the good humor and laughs that I get from the forum is always fun and certainly entertaining.

Very good point - in fact, I would like to see more people start to talk about their favorite - even if esoteric - collectibles.
And something to keep in mind - even if you don't get a big response - I wouldn't get down - more people read and don't respond than you will ever know.
I have put stuff up that only interests two people - that's OK.

Definitely a thread for the ages. I only wish I had the energy to dig it up.

1980 topps frozen in time
insightful, analytical report of 1980 topps baseball set. from reading you can see how much robert truly loved this year and his thread was very helpful to me at the time, as i knew very little about the ins and outs of 1980 topps baseball set.

I know these annoy many folks, but they are really good tools for educating
and warning new collectors.
Many new collectors read this board, but would never think of registering/posting.
I suspect we would all be shocked, if we knew the visitor/poster ratio.

Definitely counterproductive cost him a couple thousand in sales from me alone for cards he had that i needed that I would rather never have than give him 1 cent of my money.

<< <i>I remember one of just a couple of months ago. It was a link to some ebay auction and the guy listed his cards as mint (don't they all), but in fact, the cards had all sorts of tape marks on them. It wasn't a controversial thread or anything, but some of the comments from the guys on here were classic--it was sort of school yard humour, but I laughed and laughed. Ah, the memories.......
