Gold on ebay graded by 3rd world TPGs

I was browsing the U.S. Gold coins category and was amazed at the huge number of gold coins being sold that are slabbed by "disreputable" TPGs. Would you think that this gold is even authentic? Why would so many raw coins suddenly appear in slabs by off-brand Third party graders? Obviously buying raw gold on ebay is a big mistake. But buying gold by some no name TPG is just as big a mistake IMO.

Treat them as raw and don't buy raw gold on eBay.

With the high price of gold people who are frustrated with being outbid on the big three TPG's are turning to the third world stuff and just hoping they get lucky.

As long as the market is this strong there will always be more third world stuff showing up to take advantage of the new uneducated selection of buyers.l

I've won many NGC and PCGS gold coins on ebay, yet have never bid on a 3rd world sale. Never will. It's suicide. If you happen to score......the next series of losses will easily wipe it out.
