ANA March 2007 show changes date, location

The American Numismatic Association has graciously responded to the problems faced by the Baltimore Coin and Currency Convention when their March 2007 date was arbitrarily changed by the Baltimore Convention Center. The result: The ANA's 2007 National Money Show convention, originally scheduled for March 23 - 25 in Sacramento, California, now is scheduled for March 16 - 18 in Charlotte, North Carolina. There will be no conflict on dates between the ANA and Baltimore shows, and the ANA show will be held in Sacramento in 2011.

Here's a link to a news release about that and other developments today with ANA:

It's a dissapointment to see the ANA Spring show move to Charlotte on a short notice, but any show that is in a direct schedule conflict with a Baltimore Convention is a huge detriment for the show's promoters. Sacramento is a great coin town and the ANA show in 1999 has proven that a well organized coin show in Sacramento can suceed beyond expectations.

I guess Baltimore is now the 800 pound gorilla. Kuzmar and Berg do a great job making their show a great success.image

#1 this is a pretty important post.....should be up stuck up on top for a few weeks.... I feel bad for WESPNEX which also had the date the same as ANA....problem is for a small regional show it could actually compete with a west coast ANA, but it will be dead against Baltimore....oh well looks like March will be a busy month of travel!

Too bad. I was planning on staying with an old friend in Sacramento. But Charlotte works, and with only a three hour drive leaves me more money for coins.image
