Why do we think we can ressurect these crappy pitchers? Franklin sucked wherever he has been, he just plain sucks!

I liked the way Madson pitched last night however, and I do think there is hope for him yet.

yeah, Chuch uses all his pitchers and then Madson has to go 4 innings. I fell asleep after the 13th...I didn't even reconize some of these
    guys batting for the Phils!

They have to figure out how to protect a lead.

    That was awful.

Jesus, they just put Hamels on the 15 day disabled.

Strained shoulder, gone until June 3.

Keep that boy out of the bars on off nights!

Phils 3-9 in the last 12 games.

1-5 against the friggin' Brewers this year.

At least Howard has 12 dingers this month.

    Let's turn it around boys.

9 losses, Franklin has blown at least 3 of those games. When is this guy going to be gone?

OK, lets do some math, if we keep winning 1 out of 3 and the Mets keep winning 2 out of 3, when will be catch them?????

Some time in the 09 season after the hit men hired by the Phils do their work.

Why can the Mets pick up pitchers during the season and not the Phils?

    El Duque would have helped.

Will Burell/Utley/Howard/Abreu hit 150 dingers between them?

Just wanted to notify everyone that the Phillies are ready to hand over 3rd place in the NL East to the Nationals before the All Star break.

    Ugh.

    See you sometime in August.

    Maybe.

I'll take the two in a row. I've always hated Jimmy Rollins. Once the jerk decided he wanted to be a power hitter instead of a base stealer, his career has progressively gone downhill. How the heck can you have your leadoff hitter not even hitting .250? Let's hope Madson can come through today ~ms

Phillies certainly are not making it easy for themselves.

Way too many Little League mistakes yesterday

  • I was there yesterday - it's a nice stadium. I didn't get too much hassle for my Braves hat, probably because they suck too...

Its really too freaking bad that the Phils are too darn cheap to buy some players to put them in contention! Hey lets call up a bunch of
19 year olds, have them pitch, and burn out their arms to save some money!!! This pitching staff is crap. Do what you have to
do and deal for a horse and get back in this thing before we are battling Florida for last.

and get rid of Manuel's sorry sorry ***

    Friggin' brutal.

The D-Rays. Yea they are an up and coming team, but at least hit against them.

Kazmir had a bad day and they couldn't get squat.

Manuel goes at the All Star break, and a trade or two also.

Pretty unusual if they're still hanging on to second, but they won't make the playoffs if no changes are made.

Living in FL I only get to see the Phils once in a while, but sh!t at least give me a solid win against the Marlins or Tampa.

Let's see how they fare in the Yanks series.

    It could get really ugly.

Nice to see Brett Myers outduel Randy Johnson yesterday!

Who would have thought the Marlins would take over 2nd?

Let's see the Phils management make a few moves to try and salvage a decent season.

    Que brutal!

the season is over, freaking Manual is waste! All that talent and they can't do anything. Football only a few months away! Thank God

Don't the players still need to go out and perform? The lineup is stacked, and I feel they are underperforming.
  • 1420sports1420sports Posts: 3,473 ✭✭✭
I thought the lineup was stacked as well ... at least from an offensive standpoint. Rollins should not be hitting leadoff, and Burrell should be riding the pine. They live by the two run hr, and lose if they don't hit them.

The Philadelphia Phillies Major League Ball Club needs to be dismantled piece by piece, save Utley, Howard, Madson and Hamels.

Just got back this afternoon from Philly....went to my first game there last night against the Reds. Great night for a game and they had a real nice crowd. The fans were great, and the new ball park was very impressive. I even got to hit 82 on the radar gun at the park after having 7 or 8 beers !image

They are only 3 games out right now. Nothing like beating up on the Mets and starting a 20 game win streak!

Dammit! I've been trying all MLB season not to get too excited about the Phils because they break my heart almost every year. Now they're sucking me in again.
  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
Well, another close call by the Phils. Perhaps you could say we couldn't get any help from other teams in the west, or that we couldn't
close down the nats when it counted. The Phils did way better than I would of guessed going into the season. If we can trade for
one more stud pitcher, I think we will do what the Mets did this year, next year. Howard is a beast, deserving of the MVP more than anyone.

It will be a long winter for Philly fan, Eagles.....Sixers, and then back again, most likely to heartbreak. Best thing is, I don't have to suffer
through Jenie and Zit face on fox. Have fun, see you next year.

Same here - also remember how the Phils got off to a horrendous start. They fought back and tried their best, but alas fell short again. Frankly, I'm tired of moral victories.

Though I am a Mets fan, I have to say the Phillies did a helluva job over the last 2 months to get back in it, and they would have been a dangerous team in the playoffs, for sure. They're young and they'll be back next year, though I think they need to do better than Gordon as the closer.
