Current bid $240 is MS65 money. Looks like someone is putting a lot of faith in those small images. But it is possible that the seller has made larger images available to the bidders.
Whenever I see a seller state explicitly "no returns" I know they're either selling crap and they know it, or their photos are doctored or purposely of quality that prevents a reasonable estimation of the coin's grade being arrived at, or the seller is a scam artist, or a combination of these factors.
The bidder is gambling serious MS-65 money on a raw coin with a "NO RETURN" policy and no mention of a grade in the auction. These red flags should be a tip-off.
As for the design, I think (in the case of this auction) P.T. Barnum on the obverse is appropriate.
Depending on how that quarter looks....it looks legit....also, if you didn't notice....Fred had a bid in on it as well...... If I wasn't moving, I would be in on it. I love those kinds of errors.
This is a very dumb ass thread. - Laura Sperber - Tuesday January 09, 2007 11:16 AM

Edited to add: oh my...No Returns
<< <i>No Returns >>
My point...
The buyer seems credible enough. If it is being misrepresented, it doesn't seem blatant.
Edited to note the sellerseems credible enough.
Still, I like that reverse!

I've seen enough silver to suspect this one of being (having been) dipped.
edit to add: This is not to say that it hasn't taken on a nice newer toning.... where is Mr Feld ? He could tell ya.
