Is your dealer getting more arrogant lately?
The "hot" market seems to making some of them think they are actually important.

I have heard a dealer reply to a customer asking for a better price like this:
"That's my final price, if you don't buy it for that, the next guy will. It's a sellers market, I can ask anything I want and someone will be there to buy it."
I was amazed to hear that come out of his mouth. That's not my regular dealer, and with that attitude will never be more than a player to be named later as far as I'm concerned.
<< <i>Nope! He is making ME feel more important. Telling me how much he likes the coins he has sold me in the past and how he would love to buy them back. "The market is prime to sell."
It might not be a bad time to see if he really means what he says.

We just bought back a Bass Collection coin that we sold a guy several years ago for $38,000 for $55,000, and placed it with another collector for $60,000. Made everybody happy.

This purchase was on top of about $7,500 I had spent with him in January making my total purchases for the year around $13K. Still, it was not enough.
That's a Seinfeld quote just in case you don't get it.
I think it's because at first he just assumed I was just an idle window-shopper. He even tried to take me to the cleaners once early on, but I caught him at it (he gave me a really low offer on the 16-D Merc I was trying to sell, pointing out all its deficiencies, until I reminded him that he was the one who had sold it to me in the first place ten years ago).
But now I've been in his store enough, bought enough over the last year or so, and asked questions and Listened to his Answers, so he knows I'm serious and want to learn.
<< <i>....or tell him that he can have the ones dated 1989 for 50.00 because thats what silver was then-----------BigE >>
You are off by about 10 years. But I get the point.
<< <i>Recently I picked out about 20 coins for a dealer to price. He priced them and I bought about $5,500 worth. His comment was, "You didn't hardly buy enough to make it worth my while."
