I have heard a lot of talk about people making great finds including Walkers and Kennedy Proofs in half dollar bank rolls. I also heard of the guy who oput a 1909-S VDB into circulation. Who are these people puting these coins in circulation? Im guessing some kid got into his dad's collection. I have a few proof Lincolins I have been thinking about circulating. Maybe I will get someone interested in the hobby. Has anyone hereever put a nice coin into circulation?

Other than wheats, I'd have to say no.

It gives people a smile.
ALL the bank tellers at both branches I use are happy to see me. I go by each window and give each one a shiney unc Merc on a regular basis.
It never hurts to grease the wheels and it has paid off in any half dollars they get from the older depositors. About every two-three weeks I get to buy a small to medium batch of halves that way. Along with a lot of coins only worth face value, I've also gotten a few rolls of nothing but Walkers and/or Franklins.
It's amazing that so many people have never even SEEN a Mercury dime before.
