1914d Lincoln

I just found a 1914D lincoln in F2 or AG3 condition. I see that in G4 it is approx $155. Anyone have a guess at the approximate value in either condition?

Depends. First of all, if it's authentic, and if it's a nice, original, evenly worn coin with no significant damage other than heavy wear, you could still get close to $100 (or even more) for it since these "old, worn" coins with no damage and original surfaces tend to sell for a premium (because the "typical" coin in the grade has some problems).

If it's more mangled and has problems, it's a space filler and probably worth less. Again, this assumes authenticity.

It looks authentic. No real big scratches on it. Just well worn.
Would it be worth a look by PCGS?

Given the cost of grading fees, I'd say that it is marginal. The is probably worth about $50 to $60 if it's genuine. Gray Sheet bid in Good is $110.

No pics. I was just here at work sifting through some change and came across it.
I think I'll just fill a spot in my book with it.
    Thanks!

Did you just find it in pocket change holadude?
If you just got one that is incredible. I have never found a 14D in all the years I have been looking thru cents-never. I am talking about searching jars full of coins from the teen years---nothing----ever.

That is an amazing find. Truly.

I would estimate the value at $100 in AG, and $75 in F...Mike

Glad I didn't get a lotto ticket because when I looked at it closely, the 'D' looks more like an 'S'.image
The mint mark looks like a little blob, and with the naked eye, it resembles a 'D', but under 10X, the details of the 'S' start to appear a bit. It could still be a 'D', but I'd rather be sure before claiming it as such. So I have a new 1914-S.
