A big fat STAR and Top Pop to go with it.....Seated Dime from the type set

Would this be considered a Top Pop coin? NGC shows a couple at 67, but no stars. It's an understatement to say I'm happy with the grade result.

Yes, a big, fat STAR.
Very nice!
Tom
Thanks for all the compliments. I still can't believe I ended up with the album. There were quite a few people drolling all over it.

Had it been a technically graded MS-62 with the same eye appeal, paying MS-67 prices should sound big alarms to make you think twice!

Yeah baby......just as I suspected and certainly deserving of the grade

No, I don't think so either... it may not have made it's way into a PCGS 67 holder, but that's only because they are so tight right now and frankly, I think they are afraid of grading some heavily toned coins that high. BTW, that has come up before as being a myth, but I really think they do have problems with giving high grades to coins toned heavily.

I'm amazed and awed to be surrounded by so many image grading pros.
BTW, very nice story and dime as well. This one has to be a 10 on the Fatman Scale™.

It is a great forum story, from album to NGC 67*.
Great post, missed it the first time around, glad it was revived!

Actually, I just received some British coins yesterday from a large trade; there are two sixpences (dimes for you Yanks) in the group, one is graded PCGS MS67, and the other is graded MS68. Both coins were graded for the first time in the last 60 days, and both have stunning lustre and lovely moderate+ toning.
