    Writer11, that wouldn't shock me at all. The Red Sox have lost so many key players the past two years. I have a lot of respect for the Blue Jays, and they ususally play the Yankees tough. Good luck!

    A-Rod loves to hit those meaningless home runs, doesn't he? If you could keep track of them, I'd bet he is the all time leader in home runs that pad the score in a blowout.

    I don't think there is any such thing as a 'meaningless' home run, let alone one in the early innings.

    Much was made about Ortiz's late inning home runs last year, but a home run hit in the first inning is to me as important.

    And yes, there are plenty more games this year...let's not get too worked up about 1 game.

    They didnt RULE last night. Same $HIT as last year. Leaving too many men on base, inconsistent pitching by Mussina. Maybe just once that guy can be given a lead and hold onto it. Anyhow, its only game 2 and no need to go crazy yet win or lose.

    I work with a guy who started the same nonsense last year, after Randy Johnson won his first game and the Yanks were 1-0.

    "Johnson is going to win 30 games this year!" "The Yanks might win 130 games, maybe more!" "Wow, who is going to stop this powerhouse lineup!"

    We all know how that turned out, and after last night - history could be repeating itself.
