They both look like they have been scrubbed clean.

    I'd avoid.

    Wow not much response.

    How about this one:

  • The 42 and 41 look cleaned to me too. Has that " cleaned with a bar of soap " look. I like the reverse of the 43.

I think they're all in the XF40 range
    When in doubt, don't.
  • I wouldn't get the 41 or 42 (cleaned for sure)---I'd say VF20+ on the 43. Unless you are wanting to do a set in this grade there are nicer Walkers to be had in these dates.
    Curmudgeon in waiting!

I vote VF, XF, XF. The question is why does it matter? These coins trade for melt value +$1 or so from F to XF, about $4 to $5. You can definitely find nicer ones if you look around. AU coins will go for a slight premium, but you might be able to find a good deal if you shop around.

I bought these and a sackfull of others basically for their silver value.

I am just learning about coins, so I wanted some opinions on these. Trying to decide what may be worth keeping and what is scrap.

I paid about 65% of melt value for the lot.

    Rob:

If you paid less than $3.50 each you got a great deal. ($4 each is about going rate I believe)
    When in doubt, don't.

I paid $2.15 a piece for 58 halves. So I am real excited, great way to start a collection, even if they are only ok condition wise.

I also got 31 Franklin halves for $1.62 each.
