  • After about 8 years of collecting Morgans I've decided to declare victory--no 89CC, 93S, 94 and a few others--but I'm content and have decided to move on. It has been a lot of fun---and I've got a nice collection. A complete set of "O" mint Morgans and the 78 through 85 CCs plus a date run of "P" and "S" mints (no duplicates), and of course a 1921 D. My Morgans (80+) are mostly 63-64 with some AUs and EFs mixed in--all now in PCGS, NGC and ANACS slabs for posterity. I'm now focused on my type set and Bust Half date set (Need 1807, 1808, 1815 and 1817 to finish). Saving my money for an 1815/2 Bust Half and some type coins.
    Curmudgeon in waiting!

Morgans are what a collector can buy if he/she has just taken an hour of a dealers time and not found anything worth buying. "yeah, you know what? Give me one of those circ. morgans you have offered for $10.00 a piece". You hear under the dealers breath as he/she reaches for the coin, "one hour wasted with this dope...are you F$$$ing kidding me?" image

    Morgans are so very useful!

  • I've got a few under 100, I guess. Maybe 10 slabbed, the rest are raw, "free range" Morgans...ranging from G to MS 64/65. 20 or so are Top 100's.

  • 0 for me at this time.
  • Somewhere north of 75. The large majority of them are 1921's, and with the exception of one 1885 MS65DMPL all the rest are getting turned on Ebay to finance more 1921's. I'm not obsessed, I'm focused.

    Hey, I like Morgans!! image

I've actually got several from my younger days collecting, but I wouldn't consider them "mine" since my stepfather bought them for me. I've got two right now. One's an ANACS MS-65 1885-O and one's an 1898-O, raw, MS-64, which I won't have in another couple of days.
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

I guessed 11-25, but I'm not really sure.

Then again, only two of them are white (plus a white raw on in my album and a few circs that I never remember I have)
