I am really tired of reading about how "hot" the highest tier of the market is. How did ordinary coins do at Baltimore?
All glory is fleeting.

My representative on the floor advises me that California Fractional golld supplies are drying up.
which is what I collect and love it

I had no trouble selling some items for fair money.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
In that case, nearly all of my coins are ordinary and most are in the lower end of the ordinary range.

Ordinary coins are the type of coins that average collectors might own but that the high-end dealers ignore and call widgets.
BTW--ultra original-undipped pretty "collector" grade (VF-XF) coins aren't stuff or "ordinary". These are bringing as big a price multiple as the highest price tier, you just don't hear about them, and they are just as tough to find.
over exuberance comes to mind.

<< <i> im just back from baltimore and ordinary coins could be bought 5% to 10% back of bid!
Generic and common date classic coins were strong at Baltimore. >>
How can these two statements be reconciled. Anyone want to enlighten me?

They're strong to me when I can buy coins at back of bid and I know that there is someone at the show who will buy the same coins sight unseen for slightly higher than bid.

Ordinary would be coins that I could afford.

Many collectors don't realize just how ordinary the coins they buy really are. Witness most Morgan collectors as an example.

Hey some coins are more ordinary than others. For example I went shopping for an ordinary nicely rainbow toned Morgan Saturday. You can ordinarily find dozens of then for sale on ebay, at auction via teletrade and heritage. So I did get up Saturday morning and said to myself (ordinarily I don't speak to myself) go buy this coin dude.
Edited to add, ordinarily I wouldn't have said this but it turned out to be a clashy and most likely a vam too. Just an ordinary clash though.

One statement came from a collector, the other from a dealer. Guess which is more likely to be accurate.
