Baltimore Coin Show semi-report

ddbirdddbird Posts: 3,168 ✭✭✭
On the way back from Tennessee, I had the oppertunity to stop by the baltimore coin show. Attendence seemed lighter than the summer shows, but the place was still packed. I didn't do any buying but had the oppertunity to meet MANY new people from the boards...
I cant rember all of them, (sorry if I left you off), but heres a few...

Tassa (and I shook her hand image, Cam (whose a real stand up guy, great to talk too), Ken, Dave (Dollars), clarkofkent, clark, tootawl, Dennis, newsman (and his lovely wife), Michael, Xbob, and Nick Chabot.

I have to say it was a pleasure to meet, (and remeet) all of you. Especially Nick Chabot. When I found Nick at his table, he took the time from his busy schedual to talk to me, and show me his coins. I was impressed with his inventory, and his character. He is a great honest seller, and I highly recomend him to anyone interested in quality coins.

Not much on the coin level, but it was truly a pleasure to meet many of the people that I learn so much from on these boards.

Edited to add: I also meet Merc and his awsome proof nickel image!

I enjoyed it as well. Great to see you and many of the forum gang.

I only did a few hours of looking/buying this time but I'm glad I made it for lunch. Good time!

    Hi ddbird,

Good to see you at the show. I was the guy with the 1936 Satin proof nickel you met at lunch. Too bad it was so crouded there. It seems like everyone went to downtown Baltimore today.

I didn't buy anything but sold some gold to pay for my new nickel.

In honor of Cameron, instead of hosting the "Mary Kay" convention, next time they will welcome the
    "Mary Kate and Ashley" convention.

Another note, I too had the opportunity to talk with Nick Chabot and see smoe of his killer coins.
(Had the most beautiful 20 cent piece I'll probably ever see!)

We talked a bit about Big East basketball and the NCAA tournament and I picked up a nice proff 1942 Mercury dime from him.
All in all, a nice, knowledgeable, young dealer. Check him out.
