hehe you know im right. All of those teams are improving while the eagles are getting worse. Daniel synder with a bigger cap will only mean more players that are good on that ever improving team.

Funny you should mention a baby, as you Eagle fans are whining like one since TO gave you all the finger as he left town.

He knows McNabb is weak, knows Reid is a crappy gamecaller, and he wanted out. He goes to a team that embraces it's players, instead of a city that boos them at any opportunity.

Is it any wonder why the Eagles haven't won a super bowl?

axtell- you think matt tuiasopo is going to get called up to the mariners this year? I have so much stuff of his.

Not sure, he didn't exactly tear up A ball last year, though it was in limited duty.

Depending on how the season turns out, he may see some time at the end of the season, but I think 2007 will be his MLB debut.

If axtell and randymoss think any team is going to be bad then have no fear .... collectively those two clowns add little.

One argues every point without validation and the other comes up with "cuts" like McPoo. Be afraid woooooooooo

I don't think Axtell has ever been right on a sports prediction in his life. If he would predict that baseball games were being played today, every game would get rained out.

My Phillies are heartbreakers that's for sure - but this year I've got a good feeling this is gonna be a really big year. Of course it's possible the good feeling might only be because I just had a tall glass of Sam Adams ale - LOL
  • stevek,

lol your not understanding. Did you read the paragraph? It says Owens is coveted by guys like Dawkins. Coveted means he wanted him. If he mean't it the way your saying it why would he covet him ? Think about it. It dosen't make any sense your way

" He's a four-time all-pro receiver, recognized as one of the game's very best and coveted by the likes of McNabb, Brian Dawkins and even that new guy just handed $66 million by the Eagles, Jevon Kearse "

TO is the best WR playing today, and I truly mean that. I just cannot see how he is going to be the difference on a team that did not make the playoffs and have some glaring holes. The Eagles didn't make the playoffs based on two reasons:

    - injuries on offense
    - injuries on defense

Howard is a great pickup, Walker and Moulds are still possibilites, as is Arrington and Peterson. Other than the occasional play choice, Reid has built the Eagles into a power (yeah, I said it) and knows what has to get done. I have confidence he will.

One main reason why we didn't make the playoffs last year ? Easy. The kicking game. Having Jose Cortez as your main kicker most of the year won't get it done.

We lost 3 games last year because of missed fg's in critical times in the game. And im not talking about 48 and 55 yrd fg's, im talking about makeable 28 and 33 yrd fg's.

Jerry Jones has never been one to spend big on placekickers and it finally backfired on him. This year will be different. Already i've heard names like Mare and Vanerjagt thrown around

Not sure what you mean by " glaring holes " but there aren't too many needs left with the Cowboys. Of course losing an all-pro O-lineman like Flozell for the season made our line look weak, but he will be back and the addition of Fabini at RT is an upgrade.

Finding a free safety to pair up with ROY is something that i expect them also to do whether by free agency or the draft

I have to jump in here now. To say the Eagles didnt make the playoffs because of injuries and the reason the Cowboys didnt make the playoffs because of "glaring holes" is a little biased. Dont ya think? I wont make any excuses for the Cowboys last year. Lets face it both teams didnt perform well enough to make the playoffs. The difference I see now is the Cowboys commitment to improving and winning. The Eagles have been a good team the last 3 to 4 years but I think that run is over now. For some reason they never made it over the "hump" and I dont see it happening anytime soon.

Brian Dawkins DID NOT "covet" Terrell Owens coming to the Eagles. That's the problem when a person believes everything they read...especially from a sportswriter whose expertise is basketball, not football. Dawkins was interviewed on radio and TV and it was clear at that time in "footballspeak" that Dawkins did not want Owens on the team. Naturally NFL players usually don't openly criticize each other for various reasons. And Dawkins is the ultimate team player so once Owens was gonna become an Eagles, he accepted him and warmly welcomed him. Owens being a jackass wasn't exactly a secret - his "shannanigans" were already well known and that's what Dawkins meant when he added "We all know this." But hey, believe whatever the f**k you want.

In any event your happiest day as a Cowboys fan is going to be the day Terrell Owens gets released from your team, after the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs every season that Owens is on your team. I imagine Owens privately is already p*ssed off at Parcells for not attending his signing...doesn't matter the reason or the excuses...nothing matters to Sir Terrell...he thinks he's the king and unless everybody bows down to him then he will quickly become his old self again. Did you hear the rap song Owens just sang about the Eagles?...low class and childish. But I'm lovin' it - I hate the stinkin' Cowboys and I'm gonna enjoy every minute watching Owens help bring your team down, DOWN, DOWN. Ha! Ha! Ha!

The cowboys have jumped to front runners for the NFC title this year.

I want to know from Eagle fans why they think the Eagles will be contending for the division, let alone the NFC title. Don't say injuries is what did you in last year, EVERY team has injuries. The only team that can complain about injuries are the green bay packers, losing so many skill position players, their backups, and having to resort to 3rd, 4th, and 5th team running backs is bad.

You eagle fans are just so blind in your hatred of anything not green has made you ignorant in seeing the facts.

The redskins have gotten much deeper and better than they were last year.
The giants are deeper and better.
The cowboys are infinitely better with TO and Bledsoe can get the ball to him deep downfield.

What have the eagles done? They *might* trade for Javon Walker? hah.

And you eagle fans whining about 'injuries!' sounds just like your nemesis Stalin's pathetic excuses.

Sure, blame it on the kicker. While you're at it blame the one playoff win in ten years on all of the kickers also. George Blanda would not have taken the Cowtestes to the playoffs.

    It has started already.

    T. Blow, with the rap on his web site and a book due out in July about the "real story" in Philly. By the time training camp opens half a dozen Cowpokie players will be asking for a trade, they're so tired of hearing about this joker. Once again it's all about him and another team will tire of it soon enough. Bledsoe seems sick of it in his interviews, even this early.

Congrats Cowchippy fans, he's yours now. Your reward is adding the lowest punk to ever play in the NFL to your full blown Wall of Shame. We'll sit back and revel in the destruction. Let's hear you whine when the punk "teabags" the lot of you. This deal is an insult to respectable Cowboys like Staubach and Aikman, but we know Jones thinks winning with deadbeats trumps winning with honor.

Apparently the Dallas media feels the same.

IRVING, Texas - A beaming Jerry Jones pulled the string, unleashing Saturday afternoon the biggest snake in the NFL's sack.

Terrell Owens, the football reptile from hell, slithered into Valley Ranch, beginning for the Cowboys what amounts to an initial $10 million experiment in behavioral rehabilitation.

Try not to be shocked, but Owens never uttered a hiss, or flashed fangs, as he was introduced to the far-flung Silver Star Nation.

He attempted to position himself as a real nice fellow, misunderstood by many, but a guy who had learned his lessons and didn't want to dwell on the past.

Terrell wanted it known that this time he had come to embrace the star instead of slam dancing on it.

And to emphasize the point, Owens turned to Jones at the media conference and said, "I know what is expected, and I won't let you down."

And, of course, if anyone around here is tempted to believe any of that bunk, remember that Andy Reid has a cracked head in Philadelphia that matches the city's cracked bell.

None of what was heard Saturday jibes with Owens' lengthy rap sheet.

His loot-and-burn mentality stretches from San Francisco to Baltimore to Philly.

Looking at it from afar, what Owens did to other teams was funny.

But now, it's personal. This has become the Cowboys' mistake waiting to happen.

For what it's worth, Jones must have said "I'm sensitive" to this or that about a dozen times as he attempted to explain the Cowboys' thought process in signing Owens.

Yes, he is well aware a vast segment of his fan base loathes this player like no other jock in any sport.

"I am concerned," Jerry said about the reaction of his paying customers. "I want them to understand the logic. It's very important that the fans don't think I just don't care (what they think)."

    The logic, however, is easy.

Owens is one great football player. Probably the best receiver in the league. Owens is also one miserable human being.

The Cowboys hope to cash in on the football part, short-term, and then pray that Owens doesn't plunge off the deep end after what figures to be a productive initial season.

    The contract points to that.

Overall, Saturday was maybe the richest day ever for an NFL receiver.

Owens received a three-year deal worth $25 million.

But only $10 million is guaranteed for 2006. And then the Cowboys have the option to pay out the remaining $15 mil over the last two years.

Anyway, quickly flushed was the league-wide assumption that Owens is such a rat, no team would throw big money at him after what happened in Philadelphia.

Agent Drew Rosenhaus was spouting off during and after the media conference about seven teams bidding for Owens' services. Definitely consider the source here, but regardless, Rosenhaus delivered a deal with the Cowboys that seemed impossible for Owens back in January.

Is Jones a fool for doing this?

    Yes.

But at least he was wise enough Saturday not to label Owens "the final piece" to a Super Bowl run.

"This is about moving the ball better on offense," said Jerry, which is kinda funny if you think about it. But at least it was a logical answer.

What made no sense Saturday was the absence of coach Bill Parcells.

Jerry said Bill wasn't there because he had other plans. Apparently, Parcells is still in Florida, visiting his pal Tony La Russa in the St. Louis Cardinals spring training camp.

Let it be known Parcells normally attends no media conferences to announce free- agent signings.

But this wasn't introducing his pals, like Keyshawn Johnson or Drew Bledsoe.

This was the devil who had arrived at Valley Ranch.

Mainly, Parcells was needed to give his approval to this transaction, otherwise people might think Owens was railroaded into town by Mr. Jones. Imagine that.

Jerry, therefore, had to speak on Bill's behalf.

"Take it at face value," said Jerry. "Bill was very much involved, and was part of the decision making from the get- go."

Rosenhaus piped up to say he'd personally had "many" conversations with Parcells during these negotiations.

Owens, however, noted his lone contact with Parcells was in a phone conversation. What, no face to face, come-to-Jesus meeting by the head coach? Strange, considering Owens' past.

Then again, sources did back up Jones' version of the signing, saying Parcells was totally for bringing in Owens.

Which leads to another touchy subject.

If, as rumored, Bill plans on coaching for only one more season, why would he care if by 2007 Owens has burned down Valley Ranch? Sure, he could have been for this deal. What would Parcells have to lose, long-range?

"The one-more-year question (for Parcells) was not a part of any of this," said Jones, "and nobody is going to burn down this place as long as I'm here."

That's also what they said about Owens in Philly not long ago.

History tells us the biggest lies ever told at Valley Ranch happened in 1994, when the Jimster and Jerry stood on the same stage and said their parting was friendly.

I didn't believe it then, and I didn't believe what was heard Saturday.

This is Terrell Owens. Why would anyone believe him?

Yes, "what" have Gruden's boys done? You don't seem to be able to answer that question.

The NFL is working to schedule a game in London. The Sucs may play, what with the Glazer/Man. United connection. One step closer to Chuckie's next stop slinging Gatorade for the Brits.

I think the only thing that Reid has over Gruden is the number of philly cheesesteaks he can choke down is more than Gruden.

Well, I for one know that injuries can decimate a team ... but I won't go into that because Eagles fans can't use that as an excuse.

I want to know from Eagle fans why they think the Eagles will be contending for the division, let alone the NFC title.

First and foremost, they have a GREAT nucleus on defense. Last season losing Simon hurt, as Johnsons Defenses play on rotation. Adding Howard was huge. Getting a DT in the draft will happen. Plus McDougle is back. Without the upfront push which was lacking based on the rotation, the defense got thin at LB and in the secondary. That and I cannot discuss injuries.

McNabb is a GREAT QB. Better than any QB in the NFC. Period. End of story.

At present, the receiving corp is adequate at best, but there will be another addition. Westbrook and Moats are more than enough to succeed, but I see a bruiser being added. Not an Alexander, Bettis or Steven Jackson, but someone who can get the tough yards. Plus they added a TE who can actually block.

Dallas is not that good, and the redskins are worse. They will lose Arrington, and Brunell stinks. Dallas cannot effectively run the ball, and Washington may have to rely on Jason Campbell. TO will score 12+ TD's this year ... but dallas will not win 10 games.

That leaves the Giants. Eagles are better.

Is "denial" your favorite word, or is it "avoidance"?

Still can't answer the question huh, referring to what the Hookerneers have done in the offseason?

Newflash!!!!! The Sucs re-signed Ike Hilliard today. They're dancing on North Dale Mabry tonight!!!

I'm sure Ike would have gone for more than 282 yards last season if he had a QB that could throw.
  • Geez, and to think how annoying you Beagle fans will be when you actually win a Super Bowl

  • << <i>Dallas is not that good >>

That's a funny one. Dallas just needs the O-line to stay healthy. When we had a healthy line Bledsoe was great. And now with T.O. what are teams gonna do. If you double him that would leave Glenn in man coverage. And we all know that the eagles can't cover Glenn with just one guy. So if you double both guys then you have Witten to deal with. Let's not for get Crayton who was on a roll until he got injured. The running game will get better with a better O-Line. Jones and Barber are a good one, two punch.
The Defense will only get better as they get use to the 3-4 defense. The DB's are great as long as Henry can stay healthy. The defensive front was good and had a great rotation. The linebackers thinned out due to injuries. We just need a saftey that can cover so Roy can crowd the line (which will be done in the draft) and the Boy's will be in good shape.

Hey sparky, why don't you go back to where I said that unlike the Eagles, who stunk it up last season going 6-10 and losing the league's best WR in TO, the Bucs went 11-5, won the NFC south, and lost relatively few players so there was no NEED to go out and make big changes to the team.

Good lord you're dense! The Bucs have Galloway (newsflash! pro bowler last year!) and one the league's best young WR in Clayton. They have no NEED to go out and sign WRs who will make the game (unlike your sheagles).

Now that you've had your ass handed to you, go do some research before your run your mouth again.

But are the Eagles fans giving up on their season already too. The division is seperated by one to two wins. There is no clear cut winner yet.
