I've reached a conclusion about the new ANACS holders ....

They are too busy and distract from the coin in them.

Works for me.
I just acquired one recently. I think it shows a proof half off very nicely.
I agree. I guess they wanted to differentiate their product from the rest of the marketplace. Unfortunately, they apparently have done so but not in the way they intended.

I think their old product had already done that with the small size. Those tiny ANACS slabs were cool.

Maybe "alienate" would be a better term...
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I agree. I love those little slabs.
The edge view is a huge advantage if you're looking to cherrypick or even view partial collars
mint errors or even 1921-P Infrequently Reeded morgan dollar vams. Also makes you
wonder if any non-edge view holders are hiding a rim problem. I think the "rim view" is
long overdue and I'm looking forward to seeing the holders.

Best slab made in my opinion. They can hold any US coin other than the gold $50 slugs. The other holders are unnecessarily too large.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

holders will only be used for problem-free.
If the grading is conservative the new holders may have some real bargins out there.

If that's true, they probably will not stay in the new holders very long. It's a tough game!

I liked the small old holders myself. They even fit in a cardboard 2x2 box.

I'm with that guy ^^^
The idea of being able to read the date/grade without removing them from the box is a great idea. Too bad the insert looks like something a 3rd grader did for computer class.
Positive BST: WhiteThunder (x2), Ajaan, onefasttalon, mirabela, Wizard1, cucamongacoin, mccardguy1
Negative BST: NONE!

3rd graders have computer class!?! Man I'm getting old...
<< <i>I agree that the old holders are nice , small and simple. They are very easy for me to handle, not a lot of unnecessary plastic, just enough to do the job. I have yet to handle a new one, sounds like I may not want to though. >>
Bingo!!!

That they are. It's about as close to shooting raw as you can get.

I did in 3rd grade (10 or so years ago). Well it was "typing" but still a computer class. I was designing the labels for my grandfather's candle business at that age......

When I was in 3rd grade the pocket calculator hadn't yet even been invented - and wasn't for about another 10 years after that.

<< <i>I haven't seen the new holders in person yet, but that should change soon

In another thread, I think it was Conder, said the Bust Series lettered edge can only partially be seen. This is not much use to show lettered edge varieties.
I was planning to reholder A LOT of my Capped Bust Halves in hopes of finding edge varieties. No use.
But now after actually getting them in hand from returned submissions, I dont like them at all.

I have to agree with you, Marty, among other things!

I hear its their goal to be number one over PCGS AND NGC so I would guess they don't really care if their slabs fit in PCGS boxes or not. It might end up being a serious gaffe on their part tho. That being said, even tho I don't particularly care for the new holder I would still buy a nice coin in one.
