So...you wanna collect Buffs? - 3rd post (soon)

I guess a lot of you like the little "thingy" I've been posting about my
views on certain date and mint Buffs.

I'm gonna put together the third installment soon.

........but it's up to you to let me know what dates and mints you'd like my (humble)
opinion on.

Post here as a reply, or PM me.

GEEZE...I don't remember which ones I've already talked about......

Someone might want to contribute those in a post......also.

I'm also knee-deep right now in working on my story about the 1918/7-D Overdate.

That story will be posted here upon completion. I think it will be entertaining, as well as educational.

..........So, in the pursuit of knowledge, fun in collecting, and the Hobby in general........

I await your replies..........

Pete

P.S. This request will be posted only here, but I'll probably post the forthcoming story accross the street, also.

    Pete,

Great set of threads. I resumed collecting maybe 2-3 years back upgrading my mostly completed childhood set of AG/G Buffalos. I've upgraded 1913-16 (except 13-S II and 15-s), 1929 - 1938, as well as most of the P dates in between. Some of the thoughts I'd be interested in may be somewhat pedestrian but are within budget now: 24P, 28D, 28S in MS grades. As for the mintmark 1917 - 27, I'll have to file your analysis away for another day but I always find them interesting.

Pete, I really enjoy your threads on Buffalo nickels. I'd really appreciate an analysis on
a couple of late date set coins like the 34-D and 35-D. Here is my 34-D and 35-D.

if you could include some info on the 1935 double die reverse that would be great.

1921 was an interesting year with different planchet quality and a one-year font on the date.

1926 is another very interesting year with the exceptionally poor Denver issue and the key date 26-S.

I would like to know the current status of any ongoing research being done on the 1914/3 overdates from Philly, San Fran, and possibly Denver mints. How many overdate working dies per mint are currently known, and has the Denver overdate been confirmed? Lange and Wexler are probably out-of-date by now as far as these overdates are concerned.
    Thanks,
    Dan
