How many complete PSA 10 sets are there?

Just curious as to how many complete PSA 10 sets, say 300 or more cards, are out there?

My 89 UD set has 780 PSA 10's in it. I need 20 more to complete and I have examples at PSA now. I also won a set case in the Hunt auctios so I am thinking I will be done this year

While there are only 70 cards in the set, my 1976 Isalys/Sweet William Discs Set is all 10's.

There are 4 1986-87 Fleer Basketball sets all PSA-10 (132 cards).

Dave, your 89 UD set is amazing!

It is rare to find such a set...............Most large sets (of any sport ) still have cards in them without a PSA 10 example..........Even Stumps 89 UD set still has one or two cards with no PSA 10 examples. His set when finsished would be the first set of that size ( over 600 cards) to reach such a level.

In most large sets anywhere from 30-50% of the cards have no psa 10 examples.

The best examples are basketball sets ( much smaller)

There are four current 86-87 Fleer basketball sets complete at 10.00GPA
There are two current 88-89 Fleer baskerball sets complete at 10.00GPA

Vintage Corvette has a '90 Leaf set in all 10's. It has 528 cards in it.

Allan R King also has a '90 Leaf set with a rating of 9.97.

It's an amazing accomplishment for both of them.
  • In hockey for there are a few of us that have the 1990 OPC Premier set in PSA 10 complete. There is 132 cards in the set.

Fabfrank has a 1989 Score Football set in all PSA 10. 330 cards.
Dave Jacobs is right behind him with a 9.99 set rating.
  • Fabfrank has had a 10.00 1989 Score FB set (330 cards) for a while now, and Stump is just 1 card away while another collector is just 7 short. Pretty good considering there are several with 5 or less overall 10s.

Best I can do is 59 out of 60 (9.995) on the 1970 Kellogg's FB set, and 10.00 on my 1972 Kellogg's All Time BB Greats set (15 cards).

There's a couple 2001 UD Golf sets with 100% 10s (and my own awesome set at 3.5% all 10s). While only 200 cards, I still think this is an impressive accomplishment because aside from the Woods/Garcia/Duvals, most of the cards had likely been submitted by the owners and many are 2/2s. Of course, at $60 a case, raw material is cheap and abundant and condition is usually quite sharp.

Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs

    Nothing on ebay

Dave also has a 89 Score Football set in PSA 10 along with FabFrank. 330 colored border 10's! That is incredible! On second look it looks like Dave needs 1 card for an all 10 set #276 Rodney Carter.

I don't know if it was you Stump, but back in the day I was bored and trolling for invoices (back when you could still do that) and somebody had made a submission of 89 UD that came back around 65% 10's. If that was you let me offer you a belated congrats on one of the most awesome invoices I've ever seen.
  • On second look it looks like Dave needs 1 card for an all 10 set #276 Rodney Carter.

That card is one of the tougher ones to find and Dave's final hurdle. Mine was the J. Taylor RC. It took almost 18 months to find one. My next/current project is to do all the SP Football sets. Eventually my goal is to complete them in PSA 10. Most of the cards and 10's from various years are from my submissions. Some of those years are extremely tough. 93, 95, 96 and the RC's from 99 come to mind.

    Boopotts,

I don't know if this is the invoice your referring to, but this was mine from awhile back. Only 62% PSA 10's though, but a nice run at the end.

No major set from 1980 or before is close to a 10.0 GPA.

I doubt any will ever be such.

I think someone stated that there is 78 Topps set being done in PSA 10 and is at 65%, though not close to being done, this is quite an accomplishment.

Nope not mine. I run alright but not that good. I can usually hit 40% on the 89UD but have done bad a few times. I had one invoice that got a bunch of 8's not quite sure how that happened. I did buy a bulk of tens from a dealer at a discount.

On another note I did win a 89UD set case in the Hunt auction so I think I might be able to finish this year. Bernie(Playball) has helped me out alot on the ones I had a tough time with. Keep looking I hope to finish it in the coming months. I do have at least 2 examples of the cards I need at PSA right now if I can hold the 40% I should get 8 of the 20 I need.

Wow! Yeah, I think that was one of them. Although there were a couple other invoices that were a little bigger than this one with submission numbers that were real close to the invoice I was referring to. Did you make a couple different submissions of these cards?

If they were $60, I'd order one tonight. Unfortunately, cheapest I've found is $100...
