Anyone know the dealer , "West Seattle Coins" ...Need Info due to Coin never received...

I'm trying to find some information a dealer that I bought a coin through eBay.. This to be exact... I sent a money order shortly after the auction ended. A little while later I received an email saying they received my payment and that they need me to checkout or my address and they will ship the coin. (My address was marked twice on the letter sent to them, on the envelope and the invoice). That email was on February 14th.

I have not heard from them since and I have emailed them and phoned them numerous times about the situation, but no reply to either. I don't know if there is something wrong or what the deal is. I call one number and it just rings and rings, the other is a cell that is always shut off.

I'm just looking for a little help if anyone knows about this dealer or if they have a shop or what the deal is here. I'm not very pleased to say the least...

98.4 % for Feedback and basically the Negs were for what you are going through. Non- Shipment, Slow Shipment and No Response to Emails.

I saw them at a show one time and almost all of the raw coins they had were over graded. Seemed like wheeler dealers to me.

I was born and raised in the Seattle area and worked at a shop part-time when stationed in Seattle from 99-03. I've never heard of them. That doesn't mean someone could have started a new shop since I left. Aside from West Seattle Coin, do you have an actual name? I could help you out then.

Does anyone have a personal name for these folks? I know of some real scoundrels in that area and some really darn good dealers.

That's probably where they get their mail. Google the address and there is a coffee shop at that address also.

After I got ripped off--I found one thing---the more you probe and dig---the sleazier it gets. One day I will run into them and probably go to jail for what I do to them. It will be worth it.

    Contemptable people.

Wow, the speed of information. It is truly amazing how much and how quickly an answer like that can be found on these boards.

Kudos to all of you for your responses, and I did not even ask the question.

I have forwarded my file to ULTRADMPLDOLLARS on these people. Apparently they now have more names than when I dealt with them. One day I will run into them at a show and will reach over the table and bring one or more of them over to my side of the table and gladly make one of them turn blue. In 30 years of dealing with people -I can count on one hand the people who have left this bad a taste in my mouth.

Good luck Dave. I hope you have better luck than I did.

  • Looks like they can't reply to buyer who bought a coin from them, but they can still buy off eBay? What a bunch of crooks...image

West Seattle Coins has been setting up at local Seattle area coin shows for the past couple of years. I have not dealt with them. Try contacting Northgate Coin or Crown Hill Coin in Seattle, these guys know all the local dealers.

I spoke with the folks that I use to work with at Stagg's Coins in Kent (Just outside of Seattle). Evidently, they don't have a storefront anymore, but do lots of shows and travel around to all the area shops on a continous basis. Looks like that the items they can't sell at shows or peddle to other shops are sold on EBay. The personal ccomments I received were that Beverly and her son are alwys very nice and polite and weren't regarded as shady. Staggs is owned by a 7th Day Adventist and is honest as the day is long in Alaska during the summer. I would have been told if they were shady folks (there are plenty around in the Seattle area).

Hopefully, what you are running up against is that they are traveling quite a bit and just haven't had the time to return emails and phone calls.

I wish you the best of luck in this. Good news is that they aren't like folks from the Blue MQQn.

One scoundrel in particular always jumps into my mind every time I hear someone complaining about a dealer from the upper northwest. Doesn't look like he's poked his head above the sand in this particular instance, but I keep waiting for it.

UDMPL, wish I could do something to help, good luck dealing with these people.
