  • That's so odd....I just bought a 44s in 66 last week. Just cracked it out and put it in the typeset today! It literally looks just like Marty's pic.

    That's the infamous $ mintmark... some people actually collect them but there really isn't a lot of premium paid for it.

    Funny how it's been around for 60+ years but still doesn't have it's own catchy designation...

    So, to summarize... just add hype, a Coin World article (which announces it as a Speared S) and masses of people buying it for the extraordinary error... and you've got a $20 coin going to $600.
