I must say that this was the BEST post I have read since I came on board !!! Thank you !!!
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free
Congrats Bruce. Can't believe it has been ANOTHER YEAR. We are not worthy. You HAVE a life - passionate coin collector. Not a bad life considering other choices.
I guess 4 attempts by termination by moderators enough. The treats on other board members isn't enough either. I THINK YOU CROSSED THE LINE MULTIPLE TIMES. Thought you were gonna leave on your own, " I am done with these boards", I guess talk is cheap. I have no respect for you or any of your threads. My 2 cents. You lost credibility with thse threads.

Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Apparently I missed this thread the first time around. TDN, thank you so much for your contributions to the hobby, both here on these Boards and through Legend and your other endeavors. What is remarkable is not only that you have posted 18,000+ times, but also that you have generally been right about 18,000 times. If I don't agree with a TDN post, I usually ask myself what I'm not seeing or analyzing correctly !!!
I myself am in one of those "take a break" modes that you describe, but I'm glad to see that you're still carrying the torch and posting frequently here.
Thanks for the kind words - I doubt I've always been right but certainly numismatics has been veddy veddy good to me and I would like to give as much as I can back to the hobby.
One lesson to add to your new list: It never hurts to have an unrelated avocation which provides the funds to enable one to play for high stakes. That's a fact.
TDN has condensed several DQ Bowers books in one succinct post. Today was the third or fourth time I’ve read it. Point by point I find myself once again nodding in agreement. I look forward to this post reappearing at some time in the future. Boy, if we only knew then what we know now!

I wasn't here for the original post or the bumps - now I've read your post and say thanks. I'm looking forward to what you say at 25k.

TDN, I missed the original post and several ttt on this post. Thanks for bringing it around again and for your words of advice, sometimes we have to learn the hard way.

You are not Garret Morris, aka "Chico Escuela" are you? If so, how is "bazeeeeball" been treating you? Has it been "veddy, veddy gooooooood, to you"?
I always liked the original SNL gang and their comedy skits.
Kudos to you, your 10,000th post of 8,822 posts ago and your contributions to the hobby and the forums.
I too missed this thread - many thanks for writing it. I especially liked the bit about natural surfaces. Hope you have been well.
